Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Head of Operations and Strategy role sits at a key junction in modern SaaS: translating product and go-to-market ambition into repeatable operating systems. The remit spans planning, governance, and cross-functional integration—work that becomes essential as a SaaS offering moves from early adoption toward broader deployment and global execution, where coordination and decision-making discipline start to determine outcomes as much as product capability.
From a SaaS career perspective, the role builds durable experience in how subscription businesses scale: setting operating cadences, defining metrics that reflect commercial reality, and creating frameworks that connect product roadmaps to customer segments and regions. It also develops fluency across sales-led and product-led motions, a combination that increasingly matters as SaaS companies blend acquisition channels and refine monetisation paths over time.
This position tends to suit operators who enjoy ambiguity reduction—turning strategy into mechanisms, clarifying ownership, and driving follow-through without relying on formal authority. It aligns with professionals who want broad exposure to executive-level trade-offs and who are motivated by building governance and planning infrastructure that other teams can run with consistently.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
About the Team
Our cross-functional operations and strategy teams are responsible for shaping and driving strategy and operations as our products move from early adoption into deployment. These teams work across the org to align company strategy, product roadmap, and customer segments; build scalable operating models for global growth; and establish planning, governance, and performance rhythms that enable speed without sacrificing rigor.
About the Role
You will partner closely with business leadership to translate company priorities into clear operating plans, decision frameworks, and executional rigor across various functions. You will act as the chief architect and executor of the strategy and operating models—bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to a rapidly scaling organization.
Move fluidly between first‑principles thinking and hands‑on execution to drive clarity and outcomes.
Demonstrate strong strategic orientation paired with exceptional operational rigor.
Build scalable operating models and processes in high‑growth environments.
Lead cross‑functionally with executive presence and superb communication.
Understand both sales and product‑led motions and how to orchestrate them globally.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Strategy & Execution: Partner with the leaderships team to define and operationalize strategy across segments, regions, and motions; translate strategy into actionable operating plans, priorities, and execution frameworks.
Operating Cadence & Governance: Design and run operating rhythms including planning cycles, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), forecast reviews, and executive forums; ensure clear decision‑making, accountability, and follow‑through.
Cross‑Functional Alignment: Serve as the primary integrator across functions; drive clarity on ownership, handoffs, and interdependencies across GTM motions.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance: Oversee GTM planning and performance management in partnership with RevOps and Finance; ensure consistent metrics, dashboards, and insights to inform decision‑making.
Organizational Scale & Rigor: Identify organizational bottlenecks and design scalable processes to support growth; support org design, capacity planning, and prioritization as the business evolves.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have proven senior leadership experience in commercial strategy and operations at scale.
Bring a track record of building and operating scalable planning, forecasting, and execution rhythms that enable durable growth.
Have deep understanding of sales and product‑led motions and how to orchestrate them across regions and segments.
Excel at cross‑functional leadership with executive presence, strong communication, and an ability to drive clarity and alignment across teams.
