### Why this Role is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Although titled as an engineering R&D position, this role sits inside a software product company building specialist simulation tools (GT-SUITE and GT-AutoLion). That makes it relevant to SaaS-minded professionals interested in how deeply technical, domain-specific software is created and maintained—particularly where the “product” is a modelling platform used by customers to make high-stakes engineering decisions.
Career-wise, the work maps closely to long-term, transferable SaaS product development themes: turning complex scientific methods into reliable, testable features; balancing model fidelity with runtime and scalability; and collaborating across product development and customer-facing functions to translate requirements into usable capabilities. Experience with solvers, performance optimisation, and model validation also travels well across technical SaaS categories where computational efficiency and correctness are central to customer value.
