Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Algolia sits in a mature B2B SaaS category where product differentiation increasingly comes from intelligence layered onto core workflows. This Senior Product Manager role focuses on “assistive” capabilities for business users who curate search and discovery, positioning the work at the intersection of SaaS UX, automation, and applied AI in a product that is already operating at significant scale.
From a SaaS career perspective, the mandate is a strong signal of end to end product ownership: discovery, strategy, roadmap alignment, and measurable iteration based on usage. Building tools that reduce operational effort for non technical personas is a recurring SaaS pattern, and experience designing those feedback loops, instrumentation, and adoption paths transfers well across B2B platforms introducing AI driven features without compromising reliability or trust.
This role tends to suit product leaders who enjoy translating complex technical capabilities into practical, repeatable workflows for customers. It also fits professionals who prefer cross functional execution, working closely with engineering, design, and go to market partners to ship, launch, and refine. Comfort operating with both qualitative insight and quantitative signals will matter, as will curiosity about how AI changes day to day work in established SaaS products.

Job Description
Algolia helps businesses and developers understand their online users and show them exactly what they need. As a leader in AI search and discovery, we power over 1.8 trillion searches a year – four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex and DuckDuckGo combined - for more than 17,000 customers from 100+ countries.
The Mission
Your product mission is to assist Algolia’s business users with proactive suggestions, smart tools and automation capabilities to optimize their search and discovery curation strategies and reduce their workload. You will build a deep understanding of the needs and workflows of Algolia’s business users - e.g. merchandisers, content editors or marketers - and equip them with assistive, AI-driven tools to automate and optimize their efforts.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Product Manager at Algolia, you will be at the forefront of driving product strategy and execution. This role is critical in shaping our product offerings to meet market demands and exceed our customers' expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver impactful results and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive product discovery to understand and define who for, why and what we’re building to deliver on the mission.
- Formulate, agree and communicate the strategy, vision, and roadmap with all key stakeholders.
- Whether it’s mocking up concepts, writing functional specs or drafting a copy - you’ll do whatever it takes to push your product throughout the end-to-end lifecycle, in collaboration with engineers, designers, other product managers and cross-functional collaborators.
- Shape agile processes and foster cross-functional team dynamics to deliver delightful, powerful products that exceed customer expectations and drive tangible business outcomes.
- Build and nurture an agile and innovative product culture within the team, founded on the importance of continuous, rapid prototyping and learning.
- Use analytical and quantitative skills to understand usage, inform prioritization and report on progress.
- Understand the evolving competitive landscape and identify potential strategic partnerships for complementary product offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (legal, marketing, sales, customer success) to successfully launch products, drive adoption, and optimize customer retention.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in building and launching AI-driven products, ideally generative AI or automation solutions that support business users’ workflows.
- B2B SaaS experience.
- Deep user empathy, ability to collaborate with product design to build best-in-class user experiences.
- Data-driven/informed, with a strong ability to leverage analytics to measure product success, prioritize features, and refine strategies based on customer insights.
- Proven track record in shipping and iterating on products within an agile software development environment.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills with engineering, design, product marketing, GTM sales, and customer support to help launch new products and support existing ones.
- Ability to understand technical or complex business problems, craft effective strategies to tackle them, and present simple solutions to our customers.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
What would make you stand out:
- Expertise in search & recommendations engines, hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies.
- Technical background, applied to industry and business problems.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing workflow automation solutions that empower business users and enhance productivity.
- Experience in or good understanding of eCommerce and/or media.
- If no prior experience: ability and willingness to learn about specific industry trends and ecosystems, most importantly eCommerce.
