Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Product Manager role sits at the intersection of core SaaS infrastructure and the current shift toward AI assisted discovery. Algolia operates in a mature B2B SaaS category where APIs are the product, and the focus on orchestration across multiple retrieval methods reflects how modern SaaS platforms are evolving beyond single mode search into unified, context aware experiences.
For a SaaS product career, the remit offers durable learning in building platform capabilities that other teams and customers depend on. Work spanning discovery, roadmap alignment, and launch coordination maps closely to how successful SaaS products scale: shipping iteratively, measuring usage, and balancing developer experience with business user outcomes. Experience translating complex technical systems into clear value is broadly transferable across developer tools, data products, and enterprise SaaS.
The role is best suited to a product leader who enjoys operating across technical and non technical stakeholder groups and can stay close to both engineering constraints and customer needs. It will appeal to someone comfortable owning end to end outcomes, using quantitative signals to prioritize, and navigating multiple personas, from developers to business users, within a platform oriented SaaS environment.

Job Description
Algolia helps businesses and developers understand their online users and show them exactly what they need. As a leader in AI search and discovery, we power over 1.8 trillion searches a year – four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex and DuckDuckGo combined - for more than 18,000 customers from 100+ countries.
The Mission
Your product mission is to enable advanced search and discovery with results from diverse data sources and retrieval methods (e.g. search or generative AI responses). Algolia’s unified approach provides context-aware, dynamic results, meeting today’s user expectations for both diversity and relevance. Your team is building out the next generation of Algolia’s search APIs and the orchestration layer behind it, whilst enabling business users to efficiently curate their results.

This role is critical in shaping our product offerings to meet market demands and exceed our customers' expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver impactful results and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive product discovery to understand and define who for, why and what we’re building to deliver on the mission.
- Formulate, agree and communicate the strategy, vision, and roadmap with all key stakeholders.
- Whether it’s mocking up concepts, writing functional specs or drafting a copy - you’ll do whatever it takes to push your product throughout the end-to-end lifecycle, in collaboration with engineers, designers, other product managers and cross-functional collaborators.
- Shape delivery processes and foster cross-functional team dynamics to deliver delightful, powerful products that exceed customer expectations and drive tangible business outcomes.
- Build and nurture an agile and innovative product culture within the team, founded on the importance of continuous, iterative development.
- Use analytical and quantitative skills to understand usage, inform prioritization and report on progress.
- Understand the evolving competitive landscape and identify potential strategic partnerships for complementary product offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (legal, marketing, sales, customer success) to successfully launch products, drive adoption, and optimize customer retention.
Role Requirements:
- B2B SaaS Expertise: Demonstrated success in driving product strategy and delivery in fast-paced B2B SaaS environments, ideally in infrastructure, developer platforms, or complex data products.
- API Product Leadership: Proven experience building, launching, and scaling technically sophisticated products, especially those involving APIs, search or data processing.
- Technical Fluency and Simplification: Ability to deeply understand technical domains, work closely with engineering to solve complex challenges, and translate technical capabilities into clear, customer-centric value propositions.
- User Empathy Across Personas: Strong user intuition and empathy across a range of personas, from developers and technical architects to business stakeholders. Demonstrated success in collaborating with Product Design and Engineering to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences.
- Data-Informed Decision Making: Skilled in leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product strategy. Comfortable using analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback to measure success, prioritize work, and iterate effectively.
- End-to-End Product Ownership: A strong track record of shipping impactful products and continuously improving them through agile development practices, cross-functional collaboration, and customer engagement.
- Cross-Functional Influence and Execution: Exceptional collaboration skills with cross-functional partners - including engineering, design, product marketing, sales, and support - to align teams, drive execution, and bring products successfully to market.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for framing complex ideas clearly for different audiences (executives, internal stakeholders, and customers) alike.
What would make you stand out:
- Expertise in search & recommendations engines.
- Experience in both zero-to-one efforts and continuous optimisation at enterprise scale.
- Technical background, applied to customer-facing industry and business problems.
- Experience in or good understanding of eCommerce and/or media.
- If no prior experience: ability and willingness to learn about specific industry trends and ecosystems, most importantly eCommerce.
