Why this Role is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
In SaaS, reported operating metrics are only as credible as the underlying customer and subscription data. This Senior Analyst role sits at the intersection of Strategic Finance, revenue operations, and the data stack, with direct influence on how ARR and customer metrics are defined, reconciled, and trusted for external reporting. The emphasis on governance and audit readiness signals a mature SaaS environment where metric integrity is treated as a core operational system.
For SaaS professionals, this kind of work builds durable fluency in the mechanics behind ARR, retention, and customer hierarchies, not just the headline numbers. The role’s cross-system tie outs across Salesforce, finance systems, and the warehouse mirror the real complexity of subscription businesses as they scale. Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Tableau, and SQL based validation also translates well across SaaS teams that rely on modern analytics engineering patterns.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
About The Role & Team
Amplitude is seeking a Senior Analyst, ARR & Customer Metrics to join our Strategic Finance team. This role will play a critical part in maintaining the accuracy, governance, and scalability of Amplitude’s metrics platform, which powers our financial data, ARR reporting, and master customer records used in externally reported operating metrics.
In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Order Management, Sales Operations, Enterprise Data Insights (EDI), Corporate Engineering, and Accounting to ensure ARR and customer datasets are accurate, consistently defined, audit-ready, and aligned with reporting requirements as the company grows.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable navigating complex datasets and reconciliation workflows, and motivated to drive process improvements that impact executive and external reporting. The platform is built on Snowflake/dbt and Tableau, and this role will require hands-on technical analysis, including SQL-based validation and dashboard support, so SQL knowledge is highly preferred. Success is driven by analytical rigor, ownership of outcomes, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
The projects and initiatives that you will help lead:
- Serve as a key contributor to Amplitude’s ARR and customer metrics platform, supporting the accuracy and reliability of externally reported metrics
- Perform recurring tie-outs between Salesforce, financial systems, and warehouse outputs to validate ARR, customer hierarchies, segmentation, and retention metrics
- Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and partner cross-functionally to implement durable fixes
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes by validating snapshot datasets and ensuring alignment with Finance and Accounting timelines
- Partner with EDI and Corporate Engineering to test and validate updates to data models, reporting logic, and dashboard outputs
- Maintain metric definitions and documentation to ensure consistency across Finance, GTM reporting, and executive dashboards
- Track and document changes to metric logic, definitions, and historical adjustments to preserve comparability over time
- Contribute to initiatives that expand reporting from customer-level metrics to more granular contract, subscription, and opportunity-level insights
- Identify opportunities to automate validation processes and improve data quality controls
- Build and maintain documentation and validation frameworks to ensure the metrics platform remains a trusted source of truth
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have/are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, Revenue or Sales Operations, Finance Operations, Business Operations, or Analytics, preferably in a SaaS or subscription-based business
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and key metrics, including ARR, churn, retention (NRR/GRR), and cohort-based analysis
- Experience working with Salesforce and revenue-related objects (Accounts, Opportunities, Quotes, Contracts, customer hierarchies, etc.)
- Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to query and validate data in a warehouse environment
- Proven ability to perform data reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across systems with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage complex workflows and operate in ambiguous environments while maintaining high standards for accuracy
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Sales Ops, Deal Desk, Accounting, and Data teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, or similar BI/data warehouse tools
- Experience supporting SOX-controlled processes, audit readiness, or externally reported financial metrics
- Exposure to quote-to-cash workflows and Salesforce data hygiene best practices
- Experience documenting metric definitions, validation processes, and governance controls
