Algolia’s product-led growth motion plays a central role in how users discover value, activate, and expand their usage on our platform. From first-time onboarding to long-term adoption of advanced features, growth design at Algolia is about reducing friction, increasing confidence, and helping users reach meaningful outcomes faster.
We’re looking for a Growth Designer to work end to end across the user lifecycle, partnering closely with Product Managers,Engineers, and Marketers across multiple Growth squads. This role blends strong product design craft with experimentation, data-informed decision-making, and lightweight design-engineering fluency to help teams move quickly from insight to impact.
You’ll focus on solving real user problems while driving measurable business outcomes, designing experiences that make Algolia easier to adopt, more intuitive to grow with, and more compelling to return to.
The Team
This role sits within the Product Design team, embedded directly in 2–3 Growth squads. Algolia is a remote-first, globally distributed company, and our design organisation partners closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to deliver thoughtful, developer-centric experiences.
As a Growth Designer, you’ll have deep ownership within your squads while staying connected to the broader design team for craft, critique, and design system collaboration.
Your Role
As a Growth Designer, you will:
- Design and optimise end-to-end growth experiences across onboarding, activation, engagement, and expansion
- Identify friction points and opportunities across key funnels using both qualitative research and quantitative data
- Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and data partners to define growth hypotheses and translate them into experiments and shipped experiences
- Support experiment-driven development through rapid iteration, prototyping, and lightweight validation
- Contribute to and evolve Algolia’s design system, especially as it relates to scalable growth patterns and lifecycle experiences
- Balance speed, quality, and impact, moving quickly without compromising usability or clarity
- Advocate for user needs while aligning design decisions with growth and business objectives
What We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, Growth Designer, or similar role in Developer Tooling / B2B SaaS
- Experience designing for developer-facing products or highly technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience designing for growth across the full lifecycle: onboarding, activation, engagement, and expansion
- Comfort working in data-informed environments, using metrics like activation, conversion, retention, or feature adoption to guide decisions
- Experience collaborating in experiment-driven teams, including A/B testing and iterative rollout
- Strong interaction and UX design skills, with fluency in Figma and modern design workflows
- Light design-engineering or prototyping fluency (e.g. interactive prototypes, experimentation tools, or basic front-end awareness)
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, data, and marketing
- A pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset focused on learning, iteration, and measurable impact
- Familiarity with product-led growth models, freemium or usage-based pricing, or self-serve SaaS
Nice to Have
- Experience working with analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA, internal dashboards)
- Experience in conducting user interviews, synthesising results and creating hypotheses
- Exposure to AI-powered or data-rich interfaces
