Role Overview
We’re seeking a Data Operations Analyst to help strengthen how our business systems data is defined, monitored, and used. This role will support (and eventually own) a lightweight data governance program by defining and documenting key business terms, maintaining a simple data catalog, and ensuring core metrics are well understood and implemented across the organization. This role will also build and maintain operational and data quality reporting on our business systems to ensure our tools and processes are working as expected and producing reliable data.
The ideal candidate has a strong data/SQL foundation and cares deeply about data quality, clarity, and consistency. They also thrive in a cross-functional role, working closely with systems teams, business stakeholders, integration engineers, and data analysts/engineers to drive understanding and alignment.
What You'll Do
Data Governance Enablement
Work with a cross-functional team to define and document canonical business terms, metrics, and entities
Maintain a lightweight data catalog and ensure definitions stay up to date as systems evolve
Support alignment across teams on how key data is interpreted and used
Help operationalize governance practices so they’re easy to follow and actually adopted
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with BizTech, Analytics, and business stakeholders to understand data needs
Answer questions about system data and metric definitions
Contribute to improving documentation and shared understanding of our data ecosystem
Data Operations & Reporting
Write SQL to build and maintain operational datasets and reports for core business systems and data flows (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, lead management, order management)
Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, or breaks in expected behavior and help diagnose root causes
Partner with business system owners to improve data reliability and observability
Monitor data quality and system health through automated checks and recurring reporting
What You Have
5+ years of experience in a data, analytics, business analysis, or similar role
Strong SQL skills and comfort working with relational data
Experience building reports or datasets from business systems (e.g., CRM, marketing, finance tools)
Curiosity about how data flows through systems and identifying issues
Clear written communication skills for documenting definitions and processes
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with non-technical teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and global environment
Bonus Points:
Exposure to data quality, data governance, or data cataloging concepts
Familiarity with BI tools or analytics engineering workflows (e.g., dbt, Looker, Omni)
Experience working in or alongside a BizTech, Ops, or Analytics team.
Compensation
$123,700 - $167,300 (USD)
