Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Engineering Manager role stands out in SaaS because it sits directly on the product surface area where subscription value is won or lost: the UI that turns sophisticated analytics and automation into something customers can actually operate. The remit spans React and TypeScript, but the differentiator is the focus on agentic analytics experiences, a product direction many SaaS platforms are actively exploring as AI capabilities move from features to workflows.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role offers a blend of people leadership and systems thinking that transfers across product-led organizations. Managing a focused frontend team while partnering tightly with Product, Design, TPM, and backend functions builds practical experience in how SaaS roadmaps translate into shippable, reliable interfaces. The emphasis on quality, planning, estimation, and technical debt also maps to the operational discipline needed to evolve large web applications over multiple release cycles.
This position tends to suit managers who still want to stay close to architecture and code review, but prefer to deliver through others rather than be the primary implementer. It also fits leaders who are comfortable navigating cross-functional tradeoffs and ambiguity as new interaction paradigms mature into repeatable product patterns in SaaS.

Guiding frontend architecture, reviewing designs/code, and partnering with senior engineers on technical decisions
Driving adoption of modern UI and emerging agentic development practices
Requirements:
6+ years building and shipping software, with strong frontend expertise (e.g., React, TypeScript, modern UI architecture)
2+ years leading engineers, with a track record of delivering through others
Experience building complex, user-facing products with high standards for usability and reliability
Strong engineering fundamentals (testing, code quality, scalable design)
Proven ability to hire, coach, and grow engineers at different levels
Strong execution skills—able to plan, prioritize, and deliver with quality and predictability
Ability to engage in technical discussions and guide architectural decisions
Valued Skills:
Experience building design systems, component libraries, or platform-level UI frameworks
Exposure to AI-driven or agent-based product experiences
Experience working in fast-evolving product areas with high ambiguity
Familiarity with microfrontend architectures or large-scale web applications
About You:
You’re energized by building intuitive, high-quality user experiences
You lead with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
You balance technical depth with a focus on delivering through others
You collaborate effectively across Product, Design, and Engineering
You’re curious and motivated by shaping the future of agentic, AI-powered experiences
