Job Description
Job Title: Tax and Compliance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
In this role the primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Oversight and/or preparation and filing of tax returns, Corporate Affairs compliances and other required filings for APAC, with focus and expertise on Australia, New Zealand, and Philippines
Identify areas to enhance and automate the direct and indirect tax compliance process.
Experience with SOX audit and SOX documentation required
Oversee and assist with direct and indirect tax audits, tax technical research, and documenting audit results for management review.
Responsible for reviewing, responding and resolving various tax notices or any tax related matters with government authorities in a timely manner.
Work closely with various business partners to resolve tax, audit or SoX related matters and provide guidance as needed.
Support APAC tax team to ensure timely reporting, payments, and compliance requirements.
Active participation and support to Global and FSSC strategies, priorities, and initiatives.
Adhoc tasks as may be assigned
Role Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or similar field preferred
8-10 years of corporate tax experience with multinational companies, required.
Big four auditing firm experience, preferred
Expertise in Philippine tax laws (including PEZA and BOI), SEC regulations, and US GAAP accounting standards is required.
Familiarity with Australian, New Zealand, and other APAC countries' tax and compliance regulations is preferred
Experience leading a project and managing multiple priorities
Attention to details
BPO/SSC work experience
Extensive experience and deep knowledge in ERP system, technical accounting, reporting and analysis and risk control management
Experience with or willingness to learn AI-powered tools (e.g., automation, data analysis, or generative AI) to enhance accounting workflows.
Advanced level in communication skills, both written and oral
Advanced level in leadership, talent management, and critical thinking
Experienced in stakeholder management, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making
