Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Engineer (Frontend or Fullstack) role stands out in the SaaS landscape because it sits at the intersection of product UI, customer-facing collateral, and internal tooling inside an early-stage, AI-oriented company with paying clients. The scope covers the surfaces that shape how a SaaS business is perceived and operated, from proposals and landing pages to dashboards and admin panels, rather than a narrow feature area.
For a SaaS career, that breadth builds practical fluency in how modern products are shipped and iterated: design-aware frontend work, pragmatic backend contributions, and integration with AI and LLM APIs. Experience spanning marketing surfaces, product interfaces, and operational systems tends to translate well across SaaS companies, since many teams rely on the same core patterns: Next.js-driven UI, data-backed workflows, and tooling that supports go-to-market execution.
This position is best suited to an engineer who enjoys owning end-to-end quality and sweating interface details, not only implementing requirements. It will fit someone comfortable switching contexts between external deliverables and product work, and who values craft in UI while still being willing to contribute across the stack when needed.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
Deamo AI — Engineer (Frontend / Backend / Fullstack)
Full-Time · San Francisco, CA · In-person preferred, hybrid/remote possible
About Us
SF-based early-stage AI startup. Yale Engineering founding team. Paying clients. VC-backed. Growing & hiring.
The Role
Mix of frontend & backend work. We need someone who can code AND design. Someone who looks at a client proposal and knows the spacing is off, the hierarchy is wrong, or the color palette is cheap. You'll build client-facing deliverables, internal tools, and product UI/UX as well as with some backend— all with a high visual bar.
What You'll Do
- Client-facing proposals and documents (e.g. HTML, PDF, interactive)
- Some backend work as well
- Landing pages and marketing site
- Building Internal tools (CRM, outreach systems, admin panels)
- Product frontend and some backend, depending on comfort levels (dashboards, chat interfaces, data visualization)
- Own the visual quality of everything we ship
Requirements
- React / Next.js / HTML / CSS — from scratch, not just wiring up components
- Python or Node.js
- MongoDB or SQL
- Git (GitHub/GitLab)
- Actual design taste — you don't need to be a designer, but you need an eye
- Tailwind CSS
- AI/LLM API integration
Nice to Have
- Data visualization (D3, Recharts, Plotly)
