Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Within the B2B SaaS landscape, Sales Engineering sits at the intersection of product capability, buyer intent, and repeatable go to market motion. This Senior Sales Engineer role is notable because it is anchored in enterprise evaluations and executive level problem framing, translating engineering management and productivity outcomes into credible technical narratives for senior engineering leadership.
For a SaaS career, the work builds durable strengths that travel across categories: running structured discovery, designing proofs of concept, and shaping demo environments into scalable assets. It also provides a clear view into how product feedback is surfaced and prioritized when deals involve multiple stakeholders and long buying cycles, a common reality in enterprise SaaS. The emphasis on improving playbooks and process points to experience that goes beyond individual deals and into operational leverage.
This role tends to suit professionals who enjoy consultative, technically grounded conversations and can move between business value and implementation detail without losing clarity. It also fits someone comfortable partnering closely with account executives while maintaining ownership of the technical win, and who is motivated by mentoring and raising execution standards across a pre sales function.

Job Description
Join Our Mission to Transform How Engineering Works
After years of record growth, we're building the next generation of our sales engineering team. We're looking for Sales Engineers who don't just sell software, but who think like operators, move like entrepreneurs, and use AI as a force multiplier in everything they do.
We build the platform that helps engineering leaders make smarter decisions. The best person to sell that? Someone who already thinks that way.
What You’ll Do
Own the Technical Win – Partner with Strategic and Enterprise Account Executives to lead technical discovery, tailor high-impact demos, and design proof of concepts that showcase the value of Jellyfish to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and other senior leaders.
Drive Strategic Engagements – Translate business pain into technical solutions, leading executive-level conversations that connect R&D operations to business outcomes.
Mentor and Elevate – Share best practices and coach peers across Sales Engineering and GTM to continuously raise the bar on execution and effectiveness.
Build and Refine the Playbook – Help define scalable pre-sales processes, improve demo environments, and develop assets that make it easier for the team to win consistently.
Close the Feedback Loop – Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to represent the voice of the customer and influence the roadmap with insights from the field.
Bring AI Into the Conversation – Help customers envision how AI-powered engineering intelligence, automation, and predictive insights can improve developer productivity, planning accuracy, and strategic decision-making.
What You Bring
Enterprise Experience – Proven success leading complex B2B software evaluations within Enterprise and Fortune 500 accounts.
Technical Proficiency – Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, engineering tools, and metrics (bonus if you’ve sold to the CTO / VP Eng persona).
Executive Presence – Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially with technical and business stakeholders alike.
Autonomy & Initiative – Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and takes ownership to make things happen.
Leadership – Experience mentoring or guiding other SEs or cross-functional partners.
Team First – Humble, collaborative, and motivated by shared success rather than individual credit.
Bonus Points
Experience in SPICED, MEDDICC, or other consultative sales methodologies
7+ years in enterprise software pre-sales, ideally at a high-growth startup
Familiarity with DevOps, Agile delivery, or Engineering Productivity platforms
