Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Product Counsel role stands out in SaaS because it sits at the intersection of product development and regulated, enterprise-grade AI delivery. Harvey is building a platform used by professional services organizations across many jurisdictions, which makes product legal work less about one-off contracting and more about shaping how a software product can be launched, marketed, and iterated while staying within evolving rules.
For a SaaS legal career, the value here is repeated exposure to product lifecycle decisions that compound over time: privacy and IP positioning, customer trust considerations, and the practical translation of regulatory frameworks into product requirements. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Design also builds the muscle of advising in real time, where legal guidance has to be usable by builders and aligned with roadmap tradeoffs.
This role is best suited to a counsel who prefers embedded partnership over back-office review, and who enjoys ambiguity where precedent is limited, particularly in AI. It will fit someone who can balance risk management with product velocity, communicate clearly to non-lawyers, and take ownership of building repeatable legal patterns for a SaaS platform.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
