Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Legal Counsel role sits at the heart of a B2B SaaS business operating in the payroll and payments domain, where product delivery is inseparable from regulatory, privacy, and cross border considerations. In SaaS companies that sell recurring services and handle sensitive workforce data, legal work is not limited to one off transactions; it continuously shapes how offerings are packaged, contracted, and governed across markets.
For a professional building a SaaS career, the position offers sustained exposure to the commercial mechanics that underpin subscription revenue, including SaaS licensing terms, data processing agreements, and vendor frameworks. The remit also touches privacy and employment related issues, which are recurring themes in modern SaaS businesses that integrate with customer systems and manage personal data at scale. Experience gained here tends to translate well across SaaS categories where contracting, compliance, and product counsel intersect.
This role is best suited to a lawyer who enjoys being embedded with multiple internal stakeholders and balancing negotiation with pragmatic guidance. It will appeal to someone who values variety across commercial contracting and general advisory work, and who is comfortable operating as an in house partner to functions such as sales, product, and finance within a technology led environment.
