Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Legal Counsel roles inside SaaS companies sit at the intersection of product delivery, revenue, and risk. This position stands out because it is embedded in an in house legal team supporting a platform that operates across many countries, where SaaS contracting, data processing terms, and vendor relationships tend to be high volume and operationally consequential. The remit touches the core mechanics of how subscription software is sold and delivered, from licensing to privacy.
From a SaaS career perspective, the work builds durable commercial judgement around recurring revenue contracts, procurement and partner agreements, and the legal patterns that repeat across customer segments. Regular collaboration with sales, product, marketing, finance, and payments also develops an understanding of how legal decisions shape go to market motions and product roadmaps, a useful foundation for broader leadership paths in SaaS legal and operations.
This role is best suited to a lawyer who prefers variety over a narrow specialist lane and is comfortable translating legal risk into practical guidance for non legal stakeholders. It will fit someone who enjoys contract negotiation, can manage parallel matters with consistent attention to detail, and wants their legal work closely tied to how a SaaS business runs day to day.
