Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Security engineering inside SaaS marketplaces has a direct line to trust, conversion, and retention, and this role sits in that critical path. With Vinted operating a large consumer platform across many European markets, registration becomes a high-leverage surface where abuse prevention, authentication choices, and service reliability meaningfully shape the product experience at scale.
For a SaaS career, the position offers durable exposure to patterns that recur across subscription and transaction platforms alike: identity, access, and platform integrity. Work spanning monolith decomposition, service ownership, observability, and incident readiness maps well to modern SaaS operating models, especially where teams are expected to ship safely while protecting customer accounts. The stated stack also signals learning that transfers across the ecosystem, from event streaming and containerised delivery to policy-driven auth.
This is best suited to an engineer who enjoys backend work that is close to risk management and measurable outcomes, rather than purely feature throughput. It will fit someone comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional setting, iterating on mitigations against adversarial behaviour, and treating reliability and monitoring as part of day-to-day engineering.
