Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Freshworks operates in the established SaaS segment of customer and employee experience software, where repeatable pipeline creation and disciplined qualification directly influence revenue efficiency. A UK-based Business Development Representative role in this context is notable because it sits at the intersection of outbound prospecting, CRM-driven execution, and close alignment with marketing and sales operations, all core mechanics in modern SaaS go-to-market.
For a SaaS career, this kind of seat builds durable fundamentals: managing volume without losing prioritisation, translating early signals into structured qualification, and learning how campaigns are designed and iterated across functions. Regular pipeline reporting and forecasting exposure also develops commercial fluency that carries into account executive, revenue operations, or growth roles across many subscription businesses.
This role tends to suit early-career professionals who prefer clear goals, high ownership as an individual contributor, and a craft mindset around messaging, follow-up, and process improvement. It also fits those who want in-office collaboration in London and who are motivated by becoming deeply competent with CRM and customer-service oriented SaaS products rather than relying on one-off, relationship-only selling.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
