Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Forward Deployed Engineer role sits at a common inflection point for developer-first SaaS: translating strong inbound demand and a private-preview platform into repeatable customer outcomes. With Rerun Hub handling petabyte-scale data for robotics and spatial AI teams, the work is anchored in real production constraints where product adoption depends on technical credibility and practical integration, not just feature walkthroughs.
For a SaaS career, the value is in learning the full loop between product, implementation, and roadmap. The role operates across pre-sales demos, onboarding, proof-of-concept delivery, and feedback that shapes what gets built next. That combination builds durable skills in solution design, developer experience, and turning ambiguous customer requirements into working software, all of which transfer to platform, data, and infrastructure-oriented SaaS companies.
This position is best suited to an engineer who prefers customer-facing problem solving without leaving hands-on code behind. It favors someone comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases in Python, aligning multiple stakeholders around a prototype, and iterating quickly based on real-world usage. An interest in robotics, ML, or data systems will help in building trust with the teams adopting the product.

Job Description
We're building the data stack for Physical AI. The Rerun SDK viewer is loved by some of the best robotics and spatial AI teams in the world, and Rerun Hub is live in private preview managing petabytes of data.
Demand is strong, and we need someone whose focus is making customers successful, fast. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll sit with customers from first demo through production, figure out what they actually need, and get something working in front of them. What drives you is unblocking customers and watching them go all-in on the product.
What you'll do
Run demos and onboard customers onsite and remotely, building engineer-to-engineer trust alongside our founders
Take a messy customer problem and stand up a working proof of concept
Be the most expert user of Rerun, and feed relay customers struggles back into the roadmap
Coordinate with the team to make every POC and customer onboarding better than the last
What we're looking for
A technical foundation in either Robotics, ML, data engineering, or databases. You are credible with engineers, comfortable in real codebases.
Working Python: you can read, iterate on, and extend existing code and get a POC over the line.
Genuine interest in robotics, spatial AI, or computer vision; hands-on exposure is a real plus
High agency, and genuinely driven by solving customer problems. Technical and real beats charismatic salesperson.
Comfortable with 30% travel
