Why this Role is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Sales development remains one of the clearest entry points into the commercial engine of a SaaS business, and this SDR role sits at the front line of how a product analytics platform creates demand. The remit spans an all bound motion, combining outbound prospecting with inbound follow up and event driven activation, which reflects how modern SaaS teams blend channels rather than treating them as separate functions.
For a SaaS career, the value is in learning repeatable pipeline mechanics that translate across segments and categories. This role emphasises account research, signal based targeting, and the use of AI tools to improve relevance and throughput, all of which are becoming standard expectations in SaaS revenue teams. Working closely with senior sellers and enablement also builds an understanding of how discovery, qualification, and evaluation cycles connect to forecasting and territory strategy.

Job Description
About the Role & Team
The U.S. Sales Development team at Amplitude is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our dynamic San Francisco office.
SDRs at Amplitude are pipeline in two ways. You generate opportunities that fuel the business, and you develop into the next generation of Amplitude talent. We invest in this role intentionally: through structured training, close collaboration with senior sellers, and a clear path to growth into roles across the organization. Promotion from within is something we take seriously, not just something we say.
As the first point of contact for potential customers, the SDR team plays a critical role in driving pipeline generation and revenue growth. We run a true all-bound motion: you own outbound prospecting, follow up on inbound leads and MQLs, and activate opportunities through field events and executive experiences. By pairing strategic research with creative outreach and in-person relationship building, SDRs lay the foundation for Amplitude's expansion into new and existing accounts.
This role provides a unique opportunity to build expertise across sales, marketing, and account management at one of the most respected analytics platforms in the world.
What You’ll Do
- Run a full all-bound motion: drive outbound prospecting, follow up on inbound MQLs, and convert field event registrants and attendees into pipeline.
- Target and convert key accounts using personalized campaigns, strategic research, and account-level signal analysis.
- Develop a strong understanding of Amplitude's product offerings to support discovery calls and evaluation cycles with potential customers.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, personalize outreach at scale, and surface the right accounts and contacts at the right time.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, SDR Leadership, and Enablement teams to identify best practices and share learnings.
- Consistently exceed quarterly and annual targets while maintaining a high standard of excellence.
- Must be available to work from the New York or San Francisco office every Tuesday through Thursday.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong track record of consistent success across academics, athletics, work, or internships.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative, team-oriented settings.
- High level of curiosity, empathy, and a genuine drive to keep learning.
- Proven ability to take initiative, solve problems proactively, and drive measurable results.
- Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and managing pipeline in a high-growth environment.
- Comfort experimenting with and improving sales processes using data and analytics.
- Familiarity with SaaS sales tools, systems, and processes, including AI-powered prospecting and productivity tools.
