Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Product Director roles are pivotal in SaaS because they connect company strategy to what actually ships, and this listing places that responsibility at the portfolio level. The remit spans discovery through delivery, with explicit attention to AI and automation as product capabilities, reflecting how modern SaaS teams are rethinking workflows, defensibility, and platform leverage rather than only adding features.
From a career perspective, the role offers a strong lens on the mechanics that matter across SaaS businesses: making investment trade-offs, sequencing roadmaps, and tying product decisions to metrics such as adoption, retention, and expansion. The emphasis on using AI as a day-to-day product workbench also signals a practical operating model that is increasingly transferable across SaaS, where rapid prototyping and assumption testing are becoming standard expectations for senior product leaders.
This position best fits a product leader who prefers hands-on strategic work and is comfortable being accountable for outcomes across multiple teams. It will suit someone who enjoys coaching other product managers while partnering closely with engineering and design, and who wants a role where customer insight, data signals, and judgment calls are central to decision-making.

Job Description
About the Role
You'll lead a team of product managers and translate company strategy into clear priorities, guide investment and roadmap decisions, and ensure teams deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. Working closely with engineering and design, you'll drive products from discovery through execution, balancing customer needs, business impact, and technical realities.
As AI continues to reshape the accounting industry, you'll help identify where Karbon can create the most value through AI, automation, and platform capabilities. You'll play a key role in strengthening Karbon's competitive position while ensuring investments are aligned to customer needs and company strategy.
You'll also be responsible for developing product talent, coaching product managers, and raising the quality of product thinking and execution across your teams.
Success in this role requires strong product judgment: the ability to make clear prioritisation decisions, navigate trade-offs, and focus teams on the opportunities that will have the greatest impact for customers and the business.
What You'll Do
- Own portfolio direction and roadmap execution
- Guide your teams in identifying the highest-impact opportunities, making effective trade-offs, and delivering outcomes that strengthen Karbon's long-term position.
- Conduct deep customer research and market analysis to identify where Karbon should invest and where it shouldn't
- Translate customer insights and product signals into clear strategy, roadmap sequencing, and launch decisions
- Work directly with Engineering and Design throughout the full product lifecycle: Opportunity → Build → Launch → Learn → Outcome
- Use AI as your primary product workbench. Prototype ideas, stress-test workflows, pressure-test assumptions before committing resources.
- Define and monitor group-level metrics (adoption, usage, retention, expansion, business impact) and hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not just shipping
- Develop PMs on your team. Strengthen their judgment, decision-making, and ownership of outcomes.
- Align Sales, CS, Support, and Finance on pillar strategy and launches
- Partner with Engineering and Design leadership to ensure quality and pace
Who You Are
- 8+ years of product management experience with a proven track record owning strategic product areas at director or senior level
- Provent leadership experience, you invest in developing PMs, helping them strengthen their judgment, execution, and leadership through regular coaching and constructive feedback
- Deep experience shipping high-impact products end-to-end and holding yourself accountable for real customer and business outcomes
- Strong product judgment. You make clear tradeoffs under pressure. You know what to build and what to kill.
- Hands-on mindset. You draft strategy, shape solutions, stress-test workflows. You don't delegate thinking.
- AI fluency. You use AI daily in your work: prototyping, ideating, analyzing, making faster decisions
- Customer obsession grounded in behavior. You form strong intuitions about how customers actually work, not what we think they want
- You invest in developing PMs, helping them strengthen their judgment, execution, and leadership through regular coaching and constructive feedback
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on measuring real product performance and customer impact
- Bias toward speed and quality. You move fast without sacrificing judgment.
- Comfort with ambiguity and change. Your pillars will evolve. You can set strategy knowing the business will shift.
Bonus Points If
- Experience with accounting, professional services, or tax industry
- You understand agentic workflows or have built AI-native products
- Experience building products using LLM/AI technologies from concept through go-to-market
