Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Recurring revenue businesses live or die by cash conversion and billing accuracy, which makes an Accounting Manager focused on cash, collections, and revenue especially relevant in SaaS. The scope here sits at the intersection of customer payments, credit risk, and month end close, areas where subscription billing models and high volume transactions create complexity that traditional accounting roles do not always cover. The remit also includes evaluating and implementing tools, a signal that the finance function is expected to mature its systems alongside the business.
From a SaaS career perspective, this role builds durable expertise in metrics and mechanics that recur across subscription companies, including DSO, aging, bad debt, and payment reconciliation. Experience working with ASC 606 and integrating workflows across platforms like NetSuite and Stripe tends to translate well to other SaaS environments, particularly where finance partners closely with go to market teams to resolve disputes and reduce leakage. Ownership of procedures and policy evolution also develops process leadership that becomes increasingly valuable as companies scale.
This position suits an accounting professional who prefers operational ownership and cross functional communication over purely technical reporting work. It will fit someone comfortable balancing detail oriented reconciliation with judgment calls on customer risk, and who wants to be a systems minded finance operator in a remote first setup.
