Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Software Engineer role sits at the intersection of SaaS platform engineering and fintech-grade payments infrastructure. Thunes operates a global network that moves money in real time across many countries, which makes reliability, observability, and API design central rather than peripheral concerns. For SaaS professionals, that kind of product surface area is a strong indicator of systems that must behave predictably under constant demand and partner integrations.
From a career standpoint, the work aligns with the skills that compound across modern SaaS companies: building and evolving backend services, shaping event-driven systems, and treating CI/CD, monitoring, and performance as part of the product. Experience delivering secure, testable services that support SLAs and uptime targets translates well to roles in platform teams, core product engineering, and technical leadership across subscription and usage-based SaaS models.
This position is best suited to an engineer who prefers ownership from design through production, values disciplined engineering practices such as code review and iterative delivery, and enjoys collaborating across stakeholders. It will appeal to someone who wants depth in distributed services and production operations, while still contributing directly to customer-facing capabilities exposed through APIs.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
