Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This DevOps Engineering Manager role stands out in SaaS because it is tied to building a new DevOps function inside a dedicated R and D hub in Dublin, while staying connected to a larger global platform organisation. For SaaS products, reliable cloud foundations are inseparable from product delivery, and this remit spans core concerns that materially shape availability, security posture, and operational cost control.
From a career perspective, the position offers a broad platform-engineering lens that maps cleanly to modern SaaS operating models. Ownership across AWS infrastructure, CI CD, observability, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code builds durable skills for running multi-team production systems. The inclusion of Day 2 operations, security-related work, and FinOps signals exposure to how mature SaaS companies balance velocity with governance, resilience, and spend efficiency.
This role fits an engineering leader who prefers to remain hands-on while also setting direction, hiring, and coaching. It will suit someone comfortable translating product and security needs into platform capabilities, and who values cross-functional influence across engineering, IT, and security stakeholders. It is also a strong match for managers who enjoy shaping tooling and standards rather than inheriting a fully formed DevOps practice.
