Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Platform Infrastructure role sits at a core SaaS pressure point: turning customer deployment and setup into a repeatable, productized experience across varied cloud and security environments. The remit spans AWS and GCP, with attention to authentication, private networking, and orchestration, which are recurring differentiators for enterprise-grade SaaS adoption. Work like BYO-VPC, customer-managed keys, and airgapped scenarios signals a product that must operate inside real customer constraints rather than idealized reference architectures.
For a SaaS career, the long-term value is in building systems that reduce time-to-value while raising reliability and operability for every new tenant or environment. Experience here tends to translate across SaaS companies that sell into regulated or security-conscious buyers, where deployment automation, infrastructure as code, and onboarding workflows become part of the product surface. The cross-functional partnering with Security, Product, and customer-facing teams also mirrors how platform work is prioritized in mature SaaS organizations.
This is best suited to an engineer who prefers infrastructure problems expressed as software, and who enjoys creating abstractions that make complex environments predictable. It aligns well with someone comfortable owning ambiguous edge cases and iterating toward tooling that others can safely run at scale.

About the Role:
Glean is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure team. This team is in the Platform org and focuses on customer setup and deployment, especially in complex cloud, hosting, and security environments. You will help build the systems that bootstrap cloud accounts and projects, wire authentication, and turn deployment workflows into reliable, repeatable productized experiences for customers.
This is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys cloud infrastructure, networking, infrastructure as code, and solving real-world deployment problems with clean software abstractions.
You will:
- Build and improve systems that automate customer setup and deployment across cloud environments.
- Develop deployment workflows and infrastructure as code templates that mirror customer environments and reduce manual setup work.
- Improve support for complex deployment scenarios including BYO-VPC, customer-managed keys, airgapped environments, and custom-region deployments.
- Work on cloud account and project bootstrapping, authentication wiring, proxy and private networking, and deployment orchestration.
- Partner closely with Platform, Security, Product, and customer-facing teams to make deployments faster, safer, and easier to operate.
- Raise the quality, reliability, and coverage of our AWS and GCP deployment tooling over time.
About you:
- You have 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in platform, infrastructure, or cloud-focused roles.
- You have solid backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to work across infrastructure-heavy systems.
- You have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS, GCP.
- You have experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools.
- You have strong networking fundamentals, including areas such as VPCs, subnets, routing, proxies, and private connectivity.
- You have built or improved deployment automation, onboarding workflows, internal cloud platforms, or customer-environment setup systems.
- You can balance engineering rigor with pragmatism and are excited to turn complex setup problems into repeatable productized systems.
- You communicate clearly, collaborate well across functions, and are comfortable taking ownership in an evolving environment.
Location:
- This role is hybrid (4 days a week in our Mountain View office)
