Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Communications leadership roles are becoming more central in SaaS as category narratives shift quickly, especially where AI is reshaping buyer expectations and media channels. This position stands out for its emphasis on external presence and market storytelling over traditional press mechanics, with a clear mandate to influence how an AI-focused B2B product is perceived through podcasts, speaking, and executive visibility. The proximity to the executive team signals that messaging will be treated as a strategic lever rather than a support function.
For a SaaS communications professional, the career value here is in building repeatable muscles that transfer across high-growth software companies: crafting positioning that can hold up under scrutiny, translating product direction into credible narratives, and tying communications work to measurable outcomes. The role also offers practice in modern distribution, where earned attention increasingly comes from creator-led formats and targeted communities, not only mainstream outlets.
This role is best suited to someone who prefers operating hands-on while still owning strategy, and who is comfortable giving direct feedback to senior stakeholders and external partners. It fits a communications leader who enjoys balancing narrative craft with accountability, and who wants day-to-day exposure to the mechanics of building authority in a competitive SaaS category.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
What's the opportunity?
Fin is looking for a strategic communications leader to own and elevate our external presence in the market. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who is already embedded in the AI narrative, knows what great modern comms looks like, and can move fast between strategy and execution.
You'll work closely with our executive team to shape how Fin shows up in the market; less traditional press releases, more podcasts, executive thought leadership, and new media formats that move the needle.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the voice of a category-defining product at a company with the scale and ambition to win.
What will I be doing?
- Own Fin's external communications strategy, with a focus on earned media, executive visibility, and brand positioning within the AI space
- Drive a modern PR approach; podcasts, speaking engagements, new media, and industry influence over an overreliance on traditional outlets
- Partner closely with the executive team to develop sharp, credible narratives; push back when needed to get the best messages into market
- Hold external agencies accountable to outcomes, not just activity; you care about metrics and results
- Lead a strong, lean team in managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and moving quickly without sacrificing quality
- Bring genuine taste and market pulse to everything; you know what's resonating in the AI landscape and how to position Fin within it
What skills do I need?
- 10–12+ years in communications, PR, or content strategy, with meaningful time spent in B2B tech or AI
- Already operating in the AI narrative; you have opinions, relationships, and know how to get attention
- Track record of building executive profiles and landing meaningful coverage in new media formats (podcasts, newsletters, creator-driven channels)
- Strong strategic instincts paired with a bias toward execution; you don't just advise, you build
- Comfortable pushing back on executives and agencies alike to protect message quality
- Metrics-driven with a low tolerance for fuzzy outcomes; you can define what success looks like and track it
- Experience managing agency relationships and holding partners to a high bar
