Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Modern SaaS businesses operate on high-volume, always-on customer relationships, which makes litigation risk broader than in many traditional industries. A Senior Litigation Counsel role inside a cloud data platform provider sits at the intersection of commercial contracting, IP, employment matters, and regulatory touchpoints, all shaped by subscription models, global customers, and rapid product iteration.
For a SaaS legal career, the value here is the chance to build repeatable frameworks for disputes and investigations that can scale with the business. Managing outside counsel, advising internal stakeholders, and influencing contract language around venue, arbitration, limitation of liability, and indemnities develops a toolkit that transfers well across SaaS companies where standardisation and risk triage are constant needs. The remit also encourages fluency in translating complex legal issues into operational decisions, a core skill for in-house roles supporting product and go-to-market teams.
This role suits an attorney who prefers ownership over a portfolio of matters and enjoys partnering across functions without losing attention to detail. It will likely appeal to someone ready to move beyond single-case focus into building processes, setting playbooks, and guiding pragmatic decision-making in a technology-led environment.
