Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This listing stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it sits at the intersection of a platform business and the rapidly maturing retail media channel. The work is anchored in Amazon DSP, but extends across other major networks, which signals a product that must integrate with multiple external ad ecosystems while still proving measurable outcomes for customers. It is also positioned as a senior individual contributor role, a common shape in SaaS where domain depth is treated as a lever for customer retention and expansion.
For a SaaS career, the long-term value is in building durable expertise in how software drives performance for revenue teams. The remit blends strategy, measurement interpretation, and stakeholder leadership, all of which translate well across B2B SaaS roles that depend on renewals, executive alignment, and credible analytics. Exposure to recurring business reviews and escalation ownership also mirrors how mature SaaS organizations operationalize customer outcomes.
This role is best suited to professionals who prefer hands-on ownership over people management and who enjoy being the reference point for complex questions. It fits someone comfortable translating data into decisions, operating across internal functions, and engaging directly with senior client stakeholders in a platform-led environment.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
The role
Fueled by our customer and business growth, we're looking to add an Associate Director of Advertising (DSP) to own our most strategic and complex retail media relationships. Amazon DSP is the core of this role and deep, hands-on DSP mastery is required; from that foundation you will run full-funnel display and video across Walmart Connect, Walmart DSP, Instacart, and The Trade Desk, and help customers get maximum value from the CommerceIQ platform.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You won't manage a team, but you will set the standard for how we run sophisticated retail media engagements and bring best practices back to the broader Customer Success team. The goal is simple: help customers achieve profitable revenue growth by mapping their priorities to the CommerceIQ platform and the wider retail media landscape, then leading the conversation that turns that mapping into growth.
What you'll do
- Own Amazon DSP strategy and execution as the core of the role, and extend it to full-funnel display and video across Walmart Connect, Walmart DSP, Instacart, and The Trade Desk.
- Lead the conversation around advanced measurement: interpret and pressure-test Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and CommerceIQ marketing analyses and translate incrementality, audience, and market share findings into strategy.
- Build robust reporting structures to align to WBR, MBR, and QBR needs of clients.
- Drive and iterate, test and learn strategies across the marketing portfolio to help drive business outcomes.
- Partner with Customer Success Managers and peers to run full-funnel campaigns and keep display, operations, and paid search aligned.
- Serve as the senior liaison to Amazon Advertising, Walmart Connect, and other partners, and be the platform expert who resolves customers' hardest questions.
- Move the needle on customer KPIs, own service escalations end to end with support and engineering, and advise Sales on upsell and cross-sell.
- Raise the bar across the team by sharing playbooks and mentoring, so the whole team gets better at retail media and analytics.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years of deep, hands-on retail media DSP campaign management in an agency, consulting, or large-brand setting.
- On top of that DSP foundation, exposure across the broader retail media landscape (Amazon, Walmart Connect and Walmart DSP, Instacart, and other retail media networks). Amazon Sponsored Ads and The Trade Desk experience is a plus.
- Fluency interpreting and analysis and drive the strategy conversation around them even if you're not the one pulling the report.
- Experience owning multi-million dollar display budgets and their outcomes, with strong Excel skills, and an analytical approach that handles ambiguity.
- Proven experience presenting to and advising VP, SVP, and C-level executives, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong project management instincts and a track record of retaining and renewing enterprise customers in the advertising space.
- Ability to travel
Benefits and perks
- Highly competitive pay, benefits, and early stage stock options
- Unlimited PTO and seven paid company holidays
- Work from home benefits including flex WFH hours and home office set-up reimbursement
- Monthly cell phone, internet, and gym/fitness reimbursement
- Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
- 401K plan, FSA, and HSA programs
- Long-term and short-term disability
