Senior Software Engineer - Budapest, Hungary

Job Summary
The Genesys Cloud onboarding team is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our full-stack development efforts in Budapest. As part of our platform team,
you'll be instrumental in creating the first impression for customers signing up for Genesys Cloud, working at the intersection of user experience, billing systems, and
identity management. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how thousands of new customers experience our platform while working with cutting-edge technologies and a globally distributed team committed to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining critical onboarding infrastructure that directly impacts customer acquisition and
satisfaction. You'll work collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless integration between frontend experiences and backend services, while maintaining high standards for code quality and system reliability.
• Develop new features for our real-time communication platform, focusing on scalable solutions that enhance the customer onboarding journey
• Architect and implement full-stack solutions using modern technologies including Kotlin/Java for backend services and Vue.js for frontend applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including billing, IAM, product, and UX teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences
• Contribute to our continuous deployment pipeline, helping evolve our platform to deliver features faster and with fewer issues
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, both learning from and teaching team members through collaborative development practices
• Work with product organization to plan, estimate, and deliver projects that align with business objectives
• Foster an inclusive working environment where every team member is positioned for success and can contribute meaningfully
Minimum Requirements
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated full-stack capabilities
• Strong experience with Kotlin or Java for backend development and service architecture
• Proficiency with Node.js for server-side JavaScript development
• Experience building modern web applications using Vue.js (preferred) or React
• Solid understanding of REST API design principles and implementation
• Strong problem-solving skills with desire to make significant technical contributions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently when provided with relevant information
• Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows
• Understanding of software testing principles and practices
Desirable Skills
• Experience building applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with database design and optimization
• Understanding of security best practices in web application development
