The Role:
We’re hiring an engineering leader to set technical vision and build the team that will develop our fraud and risk products. This role will lead development of new fraud initiatives from 0→1 and scale products for our top customers - across fraud prevention and risk assessment products.
On day one, you’ll embed with our existing Risk & Fraud engineering team, partner with product and design to shape business and product decisions and team up with engineers on your team to keep the team moving forward, shipping quickly and responsively adjusting to customer feedback. You’ll ultimately be responsible for growing your team of 8-10 engineers within the Risk & Fraud domain.
Ultimately, your primary responsibility will be the success of your team. This includes hiring, coaching, and mentoring to ensure your team delivers impactful results for the business.We’re a small team of hands-on contributors, so you’ll roll up your sleeves when needed—whether that’s writing stories, taking on engineering on-call duties, debugging a flakey build, or shipping a fix.
What You'll Do:
Manage and coach a team of full-stack engineers, supporting their growth by identifying development opportunities, providing continuous feedback, and addressing performance management needs.
Own the technical roadmap and technical strategy for your team’s domain
Partner with our recruiting team to hire and build your team with humble, self-driven engineers as we scale our engineering organization.
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to shape your team’s roadmap and strategy.
Work closely with our Foundation team to quickly ship and release new data products and insights for our customers.
Engage directly with our customers to understand their needs and partner closely with our data teams to address them effectively.
Collaborate with the Engineering leadership team to continue to define our culture and improve our engineering team through scalable and repeatable processes.
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of experience leading product engineering teams in either an engineering manager or team lead capacity.
2+ years of experience working within the Fraud & Risk domain in a fintech or startup environment
6+ years of product engineering experience as an individual contributor, with strong technical skills that enable you to quickly learn and deeply engage with our codebase with your team.
Ability to effectively manage stakeholders, communicate in a structured and clear manner, and drive accountability across the team.
Demonstrated ability to grow and manage a team through coaching, mentorship, and providing constructive performance feedback.
Nice to Haves:
Previous experience at early or mid-stage startups as a founder, team lead, or early-stage manager.
Experience working on data products, Fintech, or Enterprise SaaS products.
Compensation Range: $160K - $250K
