Summary
OneStream is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of new features and extensibility for the core OneStream XF Platform framework. The role provides strategic technical leadership, oversees software engineering and quality engineering teams, and ensures high standards of delivery across the SDLC. This high-visibility position directly impacts platform performance, scalability, and reliability used by enterprise finance leaders worldwide. The manager also fosters innovation and a strong engineering culture in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide input around project plans that include clear staffing, resource and effort requirements, risks, quality objectives, timelines, and budget estimates.
- Provide oversight for all phases of SDLC implementation including design, coding, testing, and analysis of programs and applications.
- Drive the development of comprehensive technical design documentation, requirements, and specifications of the highest quality.
- Provide clear and effective guidance to project teams, ensuring thorough and timely reporting on project status throughout each phase of the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor development projects to ensure adherence to established objectives, timelines, and budget limits.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of OneStream Software product knowledge.
- Present key findings, accomplishments, and project status updates to senior leadership.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and ensure the platform evolves to meet future customer and market needs.
- Ensure distribution of project status updates to other departments to build awareness of current projects, gather feedback, and seek input for future initiatives.
- Establish and cultivate strong business relationships with the Product Management team, IT professionals, and other internal stakeholders.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to drive individual and team growth.
- Encourage professional development and ensure appropriate training initiatives within the development team.
- Delegate effectively, set clear expectations, and empower team members to take ownership of outcomes.
- Participate in the hiring and training processes as necessary.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
- 8+ years of Solutions Architecture or Engineering experience (preferably in the CPM/ERM industry); 2+ years of leadership/management experience of Solutions Architecture/Engineering teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in software architecture, APIs, and real-time communications.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and modern architecture approaches (microservices, distributed systems) supporting the design and development of SaaS applications; Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Solid knowledge of programming languages, system design, and software project management.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline, optional.
- Prior OneStream platform experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Decisive and pragmatic leader who can balance technical depth with business impact.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manages Platform Engineering teams.
Travel
- Regular travel is not expected for this position but does require a willingness to travel locally and internationally up to 20%.
