Profile Overview
As a Staff Engineer at Prerender, you amplify effectiveness across teams, systems, and practices. You’re hands-on but your biggest impact is enabling others to move faster and safer. You guide and lead major architectural changes, coach engineers in XP, and align teams around good technical decisions.

Your responsibilities & typical day
- Lead large-scale architectural changes that span multiple teams and systems, ensuring they evolve toward simplicity, scalability, and testability
- Multiply effectiveness through automation, tooling, and good defaults
- Support cross-team alignment and help teams navigate trade-offs
- Coach engineers in XP practices applied in real contexts
- Model sustainable, high-quality delivery and continuous improvement
- Partner with product and leadership to balance priorities and technical health
What You bring to the table
- 10+ years experience designing and shipping complex systems
- Expertise in distributed systems, performance, and scalability
- Strong coding ability in our stack (TypeScript/Node.js, Golang, AWS)
- Proven track record of leading major architectural initiatives
- Proven mentorship and coaching ability
- Ability to align technical strategy with business outcomes
- Clear, persuasive communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
