Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Field CTO role stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it sits at the intersection of productised AI capability and enterprise-grade adoption. For a platform focused on building, deploying, and monitoring AI agents across multiple channels, the “field” function is where technical credibility meets real-world constraints: security scrutiny, integration complexity, and production reliability. The Netherlands focus also signals a region-building remit rather than a purely central engineering post.
Career-wise, the position offers a rare blend of SaaS competencies that compound over time: shaping reference architectures, translating customer requirements into scalable patterns, and closing the loop between deployment learnings and the product roadmap. Work spanning pre-sales through implementation builds fluency in how SaaS revenue is won and retained—especially in enterprise environments where technical due diligence and successful rollouts determine expansion.
This role best fits senior technologists who prefer being close to customers while still writing code and setting engineering standards. It suits leaders comfortable operating with autonomy, handling escalations, and building early technical teams and processes. It will particularly appeal to professionals who enjoy making new product categories “real” through integrations, security conversations, and repeatable delivery.

Job Description
Description
Wonderful enables enterprises to build, test, deploy, and monitor AI agents for their most complex needs, serving customers and employees seamlessly across voice, chat, email, and back-office systems in any language or cultural context.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a CTO that can blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership, and be the go-to authority for both our customers and our team. You’ll lead from the front: writing code, guiding architecture, and running security discussions, while also building and scaling a high-performing technical organization.
This role is as much about customer trust as it is about code. You’ll be the technical face of Wonderful in the region, steering integrations end-to-end, shaping how enterprises adopt our AI agents, and making sure our product truly delivers at scale. You will:
- Lead the technical side of sales: join early-stage conversations, present demos, and guide architecture and security discussions.
- Act as hands-on engineering lead - shipping code, building integrations, and setting high quality standards.
- Build and lead a high-performing technical team across engineering, integration, and pre-sales.
- Drive customer integrations, from scoping to deployment of AI agents, and ensure production accuracy.
- Gather customer feedback, localize the product, and represent regional needs to the global Product team.
- Serve as the local technical point of contact, building partnerships and handling escalations.
Requirements
- 7–8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proven experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical implementation.
- Customer-facing background in roles such as Field CTO, Solutions Architect, or Deployed Engineer.
- Demonstrated leadership experience (Director, VP, or Founder roles preferred).
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to operate independently in a zero-to-one environment and build a team from scratch.
- Bonus: Experience at fast-paced startup environments.
