Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
In the SaaS ecosystem, implementation has become a strategic function, especially for AI-native platforms touching core finance workflows. Tabs sits in the contract-to-cash layer where adoption depends on reliable integrations and clear operational change, not just product features. An Engagement Manager in this context is positioned at the point where recurring revenue either becomes durable or churn risk is introduced through poor onboarding.
For a long-term SaaS career, this role builds a portfolio of transferable skills across enterprise onboarding, technical discovery, and cross-functional execution. Leading multi-system rollouts across ERPs, CRMs, payments, and tax tools develops a pragmatic understanding of how SaaS products fit into real customer stacks. The mandate to help create playbooks also signals exposure to the kind of standardisation work that later supports scaling customer-facing teams.
This role suits professionals who prefer structured ownership and stakeholder-heavy work, and who enjoy translating between finance leaders and technical teams. It will resonate with candidates who want customer-facing responsibility without being purely commercial, and who are comfortable operating where processes are still being defined. The in-office New York setup also favours those who value close coordination with Sales, Success, and Engineering.

Job Description
Tabs is the leading AI-native revenue platform for modern finance and accounting teams. Tabs agents automates the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle, including billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting, to help teams eliminate manual work and accelerate cash flow.
High-growth companies like Cursor and Statsig rely on Tabs to generate invoices directly from contracts, reconcile payments in real time, and automate ASC 606 compliance.
Founded in 2023, Tabs has raised over $91 million from Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Primary. The team is headquartered in New York and brings deep expertise in finance and AI.
About the Role
Tabs is hiring an Engagement Manager to own customer onboarding and lead implementations from signed contract through full go-live. As a founding member of the Implementation team, you’ll shape the processes, playbooks, and best practices that define how customers adopt Tabs.
This role is critical to our customers’ success, as your work sets the foundation for long-term value. You’ll guide customers through system integrations, align Tabs to their existing financial workflows, and ensure adoption of our platform across Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams. You’ll also collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to drive execution and build scalable implementation frameworks.
What You’ll Do
Lead implementations end-to-end: Learn each customer’s tech stack, map business processes, and guide them through adopting Tabs. Oversee integrations with ERPs, CRMs, Payments, and Tax systems while supporting testing, pilots, and go-live.
Drive project management rigor: Develop and own implementation roadmaps, manage milestones, and track customer progress. Ensure successful execution of complex, multi-month projects.
Manage stakeholders: Build strong relationships across Finance, Accounting, and Technical teams. Keep stakeholders engaged and aligned through clear updates, expectations management, and proactive problem solving.
Partner with subject matter experts: Collaborate closely with Implementation Managers who are specialists in accounting systems. Leverage their expertise to design solutions for complex finance workflows and ensure integrations with ERPs and other financial systems are successful.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Sales to transition new accounts into Implementation. Work with Customer Success and Support to provide smooth handoffs post-go-live. Share customer feedback with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities.
Contribute to playbooks and processes: Help build repeatable frameworks, templates, and best practices for the Implementation function as one of the team’s early leaders.
Who You Are
You are a project manager at heart with a consulting mindset—skilled at diagnosing customer needs, building tailored implementation roadmaps, and driving complex projects to completion. You communicate effectively across audiences, from CFOs and Controllers to engineers, adapting your style to build trust and alignment. Collaborative and dependable, you partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to balance customer requirements with practical solutions, ensuring customers realize value from Tabs quickly and successfully.
Experience
4–6+ years of experience in implementation, customer onboarding, or consulting at an early-stage startup, fast-growth SaaS company, or top consulting firm.
Strong technical aptitude: able to assess customer systems and design solutions leveraging Tabs.
Proven ability to drive execution in environments where solutions may be imperfect and require creativity.
Deep experience serving as a customer facing project lead with highly complex implementations.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with ERP integrations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage) at a fintech, SaaS, or consulting firm.
