Gappify is looking for an Engineering Manager in the Philippines. The candidate will be a hands-on leader who will also be responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure the software products we release have high quality, drive business impact and are delightful to use.

What You Will Do:
- Code up to 10% of the time
- Manage backlog, technical solutions, and the delivery for a scrum team.
- People management of the engineering team.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to the team.
- Promote software development best practices, agile development, and cross-team collaboration.
- Continuously improve the quality of code not only for yourself and other engineers on the team.
- Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across our engineering, product, and operations teams.
- Manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team.
- Advance the strategy and execution of the Engineering org while partnering with Product to ensure we release the best quality and most impactful products.
- Take a data-driven approach to help understand and influence the customer experience, the business impact of our customers and ease of executing our products.
- Manage and communicate processes and metrics to enable highly transparent, credible and impactful functions.
- Lead and coach your team to have big results through career, skill and personal development.

What You Will Bring to the Team:
- 4+ years of people management experience.
- 10+ years of software development experience overall.
- Must possess and apply deep, hands-on knowledge of design patterns (GoF, Enterprise, Integrations) to guide the team's practical implementation and architectural decisions.
- Extensive experience of running teams in an agile environment.
- Proficient understanding of mainstream technologies such as Java or PHP, JS, Angular or React or VueJS, RDBMS, NOSQL etc.
- Plus: Strong experience delivering solutions using cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Strong enterprise experience understanding how to build products that serve B2B Mid-Market and Enterprise segments
- A structured and detail-oriented thinker. You’re as comfortable solving conceptual problems and creating frameworks to refine a team’s thinking as you are getting into the weeds to understand how things work.
- Strong communication skills. You can move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and lead presentations with senior executives.
- Solid technical foundation with relevant experience in SDLC, development best practices, and DevOps processes
- Plus: Entrepreneurial self-starter. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and are independently capable of seeking information, corralling resources, and delivering results without waiting for direction
- Amenable to work in a hybrid working arrangement.
