Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Staff Site Reliability Engineer role stands out as a SaaS infrastructure cornerstone position, centred on the systems that let product teams ship reliably. The scope spans CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and multi cloud architecture, which are common pressure points as SaaS platforms expand usage and internal engineering throughput. The inclusion of reliability mechanisms like SLOs and SLIs signals an environment where uptime and customer experience are treated as measurable engineering outcomes rather than informal expectations.
For a long term SaaS career, the work maps closely to how modern subscription businesses professionalise operations. Building standardised pipelines, improving incident response, and reducing systemic friction are the kinds of platform investments that compound across teams and products. Experience with Kubernetes, managed cloud services, and GitOps style delivery also transfers cleanly across SaaS companies, especially those moving from ad hoc operations to repeatable, auditable delivery.
This role fits engineers who prefer broad ownership over narrowly scoped tickets and who enjoy shaping standards that other teams adopt. It is well suited to someone comfortable balancing architecture decisions with practical operational work, and to professionals who value documentation, mentoring, and cross timezone collaboration as part of the job’s day to day rhythm.

Job Description
About the role
We’re seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer. In this role, you will define and evolve the foundational infrastructure that enables our teams to build, test, and deploy code with high velocity, reliability, and scalability. You will take end-to-end ownership of our platform architecture, ensuring it remains resilient, efficient, and aligned with our long-term growth.
As a key member of a rapidly evolving team, you will play a critical role in setting infrastructure standards, improving operational maturity, and shaping the overall developer experience. This is a high-impact opportunity to eliminate systemic technical friction and strengthen the engineering foundation as we scale.
What You’ll Do
Define and drive the strategy for automation pipelines (GitHub Actions, Terraform, ArgoCD), setting standards and best practices across teams
Own the architecture and evolution of our cloud infrastructure (GCP managed services, GKE, AWS, Azure, Terraform), ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost-efficiency
Establish reliability standards (SLOs/SLIs), lead incident management improvements, and drive systemic operational excellence
Set documentation and knowledge-sharing standards, mentoring engineers and promoting strong platform engineering practices
Be part of our on-call rotation schedule. We have a follow-the-sun approach and we’re spread across three time-zones
Who you are
A highly experienced cloud-native engineer with 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including strong hands-on Kubernetes expertise
Comfortable operating autonomously and taking end-to-end ownership of complex systems
A pragmatic problem-solver who improves systems, not just fixes symptoms
Committed to engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
