Senior UX Researcher @ Clay
We're looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join the Product team and help shape the future of AI-powered workflows. As a key research partner, you'll work across the product org to deeply understand how people use Clay's most complex features, from data enrichment to automation to emerging AI capabilities. This role combines foundational research, rapid iteration, and strategic influence as you collaborate with designers, PMs, engineers, and go-to-market teams to turn insights into action.
Questions We're Asking & Exploring
How do users think about and interact with AI agents in their workflows, and how can we design experiences that build trust and deliver value?
What mental models do different user segments have around data enrichment, automation, and Clay's expanding feature set?
How can we make cutting-edge capabilities like MCP (Model Context Protocol) intuitive and valuable for technical and non-technical users alike?
What do enterprise customers need from Clay as they scale?
What You'll Do
Lead mixed-methods research: Design and execute studies using interviews, surveys, usability testing, analytics, and behavioral data to answer critical product questions.
Partner with cross-functional teams: Work closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to identify research needs and translate findings into actionable insights.
Drive strategic initiatives: Own research for key product areas like AI/agents, enterprise features, and emerging technologies, influencing roadmap decisions.
Understand diverse users: Study varied personas (from sales reps to growth marketers to technical architects) across SMB and enterprise contexts.
Manage complex stakeholders: Navigate competing priorities, align teams around insights, and communicate research effectively to audiences from ICs to leadership.
Build research infrastructure: Develop scalable systems for participant recruiting, insight sharing, and knowledge management.
Advocate for users: Champion user needs and ensure the voice of the customer shapes product decisions.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in UX research, preferably in B2B SaaS or complex technical products.
Strong mixed-methods chops: comfort designing and running both qualitative studies (interviews, usability tests) and quantitative research (surveys, analytics).
Experience researching AI products, agents, or emerging technologies — or genuine curiosity and interest in these areas.
Stakeholder management skills: ability to work with diverse teams, manage competing asks, and influencing critical decisions.
Systems thinking: track record of building scalable research practices and translating insights into frameworks that guide product strategy.
Comfort with ambiguity: ability to scope research questions, choose appropriate methods, and move fast in an early-stage environment.
Clear communicator who can distill complex findings into compelling narratives for different audiences.
Collaborative spirit: eager to learn, teach, and work closely with others.
Bonus: experience with workflow automation tools, or technical products involving APIs/MCP.
