Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Web Engineer role sits at an intersection that matters in SaaS: self-serve platforms and monetisation infrastructure. Building interfaces for an ads manager implies product surfaces where reliability, permissioning, and clear workflows directly affect revenue outcomes, while still being a classic SaaS problem of serving many customers through one configurable product. The emphasis on scaling to large user and advertiser volumes also signals a mature platform environment with real operational constraints.
For a long-term SaaS career, the work maps to durable skills rather than a narrow feature set. Owning user-facing web experiences while also negotiating API contracts builds fluency in how SaaS products evolve across frontend, data models, and internal platform boundaries. Exposure to accessibility, security, maintainability, and experimentation practices is especially transferable across modern SaaS organisations where product iteration and governance must coexist.
This position is best suited to an engineer who enjoys cross-functional delivery and wants to deepen product thinking alongside technical execution. It fits someone comfortable balancing UI craft with systems awareness, and who prefers work that includes code quality, testing, and long-lived architecture decisions rather than one-off builds.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
Our mission on the Advertising Product & Technology team is to build a next generation advertising platform that aligns with our unique value proposition for audio and video. We work to scale the user experience for hundreds of millions of fans and hundreds of thousands of advertisers. This scale brings unique challenges as well as tremendous opportunities for our artists and creators.
We’re looking for a Web Engineer to join our fast-moving and collaborative team within AdCo. You’ll contribute to building high-quality, user-centric experiences that power Spotify’s Ads Manager and support a growing ecosystem of advertisers. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with solid frontend experience who understands that great UI work requires thinking across the full stack, from API contracts and data models to the end-user experience, and who's ready to make meaningful contributions to product development.
You’ll work on scalable, secure, and accessible interfaces that help advertisers create and manage their campaigns. In this role, you’ll grow your technical breadth and impact by working closely with experienced teammates across design, product, and engineering.

What You'll Do
-
Develop and maintain web applications and user interfaces using technologies like React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
-
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build features that enhance advertiser workflows and experience, always keeping the end customer's needs at the center
-
Define and negotiate API contracts with internal partner teams to ensure clean integration points that support long-term scalability and new feature rollouts in Ads Manager platform.
-
Work as part of a cross-functional team within AdCo, solving problems at scale for our users and thinking critically about product impact, not just shipping features, but understanding why they matter and how they'll scale
-
Partner with other engineering teams across Spotify to support adoption and understanding of our Ads Manager platform.
-
Help improve the structure, performance, and maintainability of our frontend codebase.
-
Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
-
Contribute to team discussions about technical direction and frontend best practices, with guidance from senior engineers.
-
Support Spotify’s engineering standards for security, accessibility, and inclusive design.
-
Take advantage of growth opportunities like hack time, internal trainings, tech talks, and peer mentorship.
Who You Are
-
You have a quality-focused mindset and are interested in all parts of software development: ideation, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, experimentation, and iteration.
-
You have a solid foundation in frontend development, and hands-on experience with React or a similar framework.
-
You are comfortable using TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frontend tooling (e.g., Webpack, testing libraries, CI/CD).
-
You care deeply about the customer experience, both for advertisers using our platform and for internal teams consuming your work, and you enjoy collaborating with designers to create intuitive interfaces.
-
You’re a strong communicator and collaborative teammate who values feedback, pairing, and collective problem solving.
-
You take initiative and ownership over your work. You drive toward outcomes, understand the end goal, and think about product impact and scalability, not just task completion. You also know when to ask for help and guidance.
Where You'll Be
-
We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the North Americas region as long as we have a work location.
-
This team operates within the Eastern time zone for collaboration.
