Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Software Development Engineer in Test role stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it sits at the intersection of mobile product delivery and platform reliability. Dialpad’s positioning around AI-driven communications implies a product surface where frequent releases and high user expectations make test automation and CI/CD maturity central to the customer experience, particularly across iOS and Android.
For a long-term SaaS career, the work builds durable leverage: designing automation frameworks, hardening pipelines, and creating reporting that turns quality into measurable signals for engineering and product stakeholders. Experience investigating failures to root cause, shaping test strategy, and integrating AI-assisted tooling maps well to modern SaaS practices where quality engineering is increasingly treated as software engineering, not a downstream checkpoint.
This role is best suited to an engineer who prefers owning systems rather than running individual test cases, and who is comfortable making design trade-offs that affect multiple teams. It will fit someone who communicates clearly across time zones, enjoys pairing with mobile and backend counterparts, and wants a seat close to release governance and product health rather than isolated QA execution.
