Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Engineering Manager role sits at a consumer SaaS scale where product differentiation comes from lived experience details rather than basic feature parity. The focus on a social listening surface implies real-time coordination across clients, services, and partner integrations, a common SaaS challenge when a product must behave consistently across many devices and contexts.
From a SaaS career perspective, the work builds durable leadership range across product-aligned engineering and platform constraints. Managing delivery across iOS, Android, backend, and cross-platform systems develops an operator’s view of how reliability, latency, and UX trade-offs translate into retention and engagement. The remit also signals exposure to roadmap shaping with Product and Design, a core skill for engineering leaders in subscription businesses where iteration cycles are continuous.
This listing best fits an experienced people leader who enjoys coaching engineers while staying close to complex technical decision-making. It suits someone comfortable navigating cross-functional dependencies, aligning multiple disciplines around outcomes, and making pragmatic calls when real-time systems introduce ambiguity. Candidates drawn to consumer SaaS problems with high surface area across devices and integrations should find the scope especially aligned.

Job Description
We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.
We’re building one of Spotify’s most social and engaging experiences: Jam. Jam brings people together through music, enabling friends and groups to listen in real time, wherever they are. It transforms listening from a solo activity into a shared experience and plays an important role in how Spotify connects users through audio.
You’ll join a cross-functional team working across mobile, backend, and platform technologies to shape how millions of people experience music together.
