Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Junior Contract Researcher role sits at a common inflection point in SaaS: translating domain-heavy, document-centric work into usable product workflows. Nutrient operates in the document infrastructure layer, where adoption depends on reducing friction in reviews, approvals, and collaboration. Having legal-process practitioners contribute directly to early product thinking reflects how SaaS teams de-risk roadmap decisions in specialist verticals.
For a SaaS career, the value is in learning how product discovery can be grounded in real operational constraints rather than abstract feature requests. The work sharpens the ability to articulate pain points, compare “current state” tooling, and evaluate concepts in a way that product, design, and engineering can act on. That kind of workflow literacy is portable across B2B SaaS categories that sell into regulated or compliance-heavy environments.
The role fits someone who is close to legal operations in practice and wants a structured way to influence software without stepping into a full product job. It also suits professionals comfortable offering candid feedback, testing unfinished ideas, and focusing on specifics over theory, especially within a short, defined contract window.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.

Your Role at Nutrient...
We're hiring a Junior Contract Researcher to help us build better product experiences for legal teams.
This is a paid, short-term contract role expected to run for 1 to 3 months and you do not need prior product experience.
We're looking for someone who has worked in a legal environment—law firms, in-house legal teams, legal ops, compliance-heavy teams, or adjacent roles where documents, review cycles, approvals, and manual processes are a constant part of the job.
If you've ever thought:
- Why is legal work still so manual?
- Why is document-heavy software so painful to use?
- Why do review, approval, and collaboration workflows still feel more complicated than they should?
- Why is it still so hard for teams to adopt better tools?
...you may be a strong fit.
This is not a traditional product role. We're looking for someone who has lived these workflows firsthand, has strong opinions about what should work better, and wants to help shape better tools for legal teams.
What You'll Work On...
- Share feedback on real legal workflows and product ideas
- Help test concepts and early product directions
- Identify pain points in how legal teams actually work
- Contribute to real product decisions
- Help us understand where current tools fall short in day-to-day legal work
What You'll Bring...
- Firsthand experience in legal workflows
- You're pragmatic
- You're opinionated
- You're curious
- You move fast
- You get things done
- You don't wait for permission
Who Thrives Here...
At Nutrient, we’re not just hiring for skills — we’re hiring for mindset. The people who thrive here are:
- Collaborators: You collaborate openly, listen actively, and prioritize team success over ego.
- Hungry Learners: Rapid learning fuels progress and career growth.
- Curious Thinkers: You dig deep to uncover the “why,” valuing understanding over simply being right.
- Self-Starters: You take action without waiting for direction, turning obstacles into opportunities with creativity and persistence.
- Owners: You take responsibility for solutions and outcomes, always looking for ways to improve what’s within your control.
- Doers: You’re energized by progress, motivated to create meaningful impact, and eager to tackle challenges.
