Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Engineering Manager role sits in the part of a consumer subscription platform where product experience and platform reliability meet. In SaaS terms, “Core Experience” work is foundational: improvements land across multiple surfaces and journeys, and the outcomes are measured in engagement, performance, and consistency at scale. The remit across squads also reflects a mature product organisation where coordination and technical direction matter as much as feature delivery.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role builds durable leadership capital in areas that recur across subscription businesses: aligning engineering execution to product roadmaps, balancing discovery with predictable delivery, and raising quality without slowing iteration. Managing other Engineering Managers adds a layer of organisational design and coaching that transfers well to multi-team environments, especially where teams must ship incrementally while maintaining a cohesive user experience.
This position best suits an engineering leader who enjoys operating through other leaders, translating ambiguous product goals into clear technical plans, and partnering closely with product, design, and insights. It will appeal to someone motivated by end-user experience and systems thinking, and who prefers influence through alignment, standards, and team development rather than hands-on ownership of a single codebase.

Job Description
We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. You’ll join the Core Experience Studio, where we shape how millions of people interact with Spotify every day. Within this, the Core Value & Engagement (CV&E) product area focuses on making the core app more engaging and seamless across key user journeys.
CV&E is a fast-growing area made up of multiple squads working on high-impact experiences like social features, personalized moments, and playlist capabilities. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, design, and insights leaders to scale both the technology and the teams behind these experiences.
