Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Director, Engineering role sits at the intersection of SaaS security operations and large scale data platforms. The remit spans a next generation SIEM that ingests and correlates signals from both first party and third party sources, which is a core pattern in modern SaaS security products. The scale referenced, measured in trillions of events per day, signals a mature, high throughput cloud service where reliability, cost discipline, and performance tradeoffs materially shape product capability.
For a SaaS engineering leader, the career value is in steering platform evolution while keeping operational outcomes measurable. Ownership of strategy, multi team execution, and engineering effectiveness metrics maps closely to how SaaS companies translate roadmap intent into dependable service delivery. The domain also provides durable exposure to AI native product directions and to the mechanics of building extensible ingestion, search, and incident workflows that other SaaS observability and security platforms share.
This role is best suited to senior leaders who prefer shaping systems and organizations through alignment rather than hands on coding. It favors comfort with executive communication, cross functional prioritization, and making decisions under constraints typical of always on cloud services. Candidates motivated by security product complexity and by scaling engineering management practices will find the strongest fit.
