Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Director of Engineering remit sits at a core SaaS leverage point: communications and data capture that feeds the rest of the product. Owning ingestion, pipelines, and integrations means shaping how external systems connect to the platform and how reliably data becomes usable for analytics, product functionality, and AI-oriented workloads. The hybrid setup in Dublin also signals a role anchored in close cross-functional execution across Product, Data, and Infrastructure.
From a SaaS career perspective, the work builds durable platform leadership experience. Steering architecture for event-driven and batch systems, setting SLAs, and improving observability and testing are the kinds of operational disciplines that translate across subscription businesses where reliability and data quality directly affect retention and expansion. The scope also strengthens the ability to connect technical roadmaps to business outcomes, a key differentiator for senior engineering leaders in SaaS.
This role best fits an engineering leader who enjoys systems thinking and enabling other teams through robust internal platforms. It suits someone comfortable managing managers, balancing hands-on architectural guidance with delegation, and navigating trade-offs across governance, security, and developer productivity. Interest in integration ecosystems and high-volume data movement will align particularly well with the day-to-day focus.
