Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Product Finance and Strategy roles are becoming more central in SaaS as product portfolios expand beyond a single core offering. This position sits at the intersection of product development and commercial outcomes, focusing on new and emerging products where pricing, packaging, and use case definition often determine whether growth is durable. The cross functional partnership with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Analytics signals a SaaS environment where financial strategy is expected to shape roadmap and investment choices, not just report results.
For a long term SaaS career, the value here is in building repeatable decision frameworks that translate product bets into measurable business impact. Ownership of planning and forecasting across multiple products develops fluency in SaaS unit economics, margin tradeoffs, and scenario based thinking that carries across categories and company sizes. The emphasis on AI enabled planning also points to modern finance workflows where automation and decision support are part of the craft.
This role tends to suit professionals who enjoy ambiguous problem spaces and can move from analysis to executive ready recommendations. It aligns with candidates who like operating as a partner to product leaders, are comfortable influencing without direct authority, and want their work to be closely tied to product strategy rather than corporate budgeting alone.

Job Description
The Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team improves strategic decision-making through deep cross-functional partnership, financial and strategic analyses, and domain expertise. We proactively identify opportunities to fuel growth toward Checkr’s goals and drive the highest impact outcomes.
We are looking for a Manager, Product Finance & Strategy to support growth across Checkr’s new and emerging products. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Analytics to lead financial planning, evaluate new opportunities (including pricing and use-case expansion), and inform investment decisions.
This is a high-impact role for someone who can pair strong financial judgment with fast execution in ambiguous environments—and leverage AI tools to improve planning, insights, and decision support.
What you’ll do
- Product Finance Ownership: Own financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a portfolio of new and growth products.
- Business Partnership: Partner with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Analytics to support roadmap, investment, and operating decisions.
- Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate new products, use cases, pricing, and packaging opportunities using financial and strategic frameworks.
- Insights & Recommendations: Deliver clear, data-driven insights on growth, margin, risk, and ROI to inform executive decisions.
- AI-Enabled FP&S: Use AI tools to improve planning speed, analysis quality, reporting workflows, and decision support.
What you bring
- 6–9+ years of experience in strategic finance, product finance, business operations, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills across forecasting, scenario analysis, pricing, and investment cases.
- Experience partnering with Product and/or Engineering on roadmap, prioritization, and resource allocation decisions.
- Strong business judgment and executive communication; able to turn ambiguity into clear, decision-ready recommendations.
- High ownership, bias for action, and either experience in, or a desire to, become “AI Native” to improve decision-making
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
