Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior GL Accountant role stands out in SaaS because it sits at the operational core of a subscription business where timing, accuracy, and multi-entity complexity matter. Amplitude’s focus on modernizing close and investing in automation and AI-assisted workflows signals an environment where accounting is expected to evolve alongside the product and go-to-market engine, not simply keep score after the fact.
For a finance professional building a SaaS career, the remit touches many of the patterns that recur across high-growth software companies: disciplined month-end execution, cash visibility across multiple platforms, and the controls needed to support international activity. The combination of balance sheet ownership, indirect tax exposure, and cross-functional partnering creates experience that transfers well to future SaaS roles in controllership, revenue operations adjacent finance, or broader finance systems and process improvement tracks.
This position is best suited to someone who prefers clear ownership and can move between detailed reconciliations and pragmatic judgment calls. It will fit a candidate who enjoys collaborating with AP, Payroll, Tax, and Procurement to resolve issues at the source, and who is motivated by making accounting workflows more scalable through tooling rather than adding manual steps.
