Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Principal Solutions Consultant role stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it sits where enterprise buying cycles meet platform adoption. PagerDuty is positioned in the operations and reliability layer of modern SaaS stacks, and the APAC remit signals work shaped by regional market nuance, complex stakeholder environments, and high-consequence technical decisions tied to resilience and automation.
For a SaaS career, the role builds durable leverage across pre-sales architecture, executive advisory, and product influence. It offers repeated exposure to how SaaS platforms earn trust as mission-critical systems, how technical narratives translate into business cases, and how customer feedback is distilled into roadmap signal. The mix of field engagement and partnership with global Product and Engineering also develops a practical understanding of how SaaS companies balance platform strategy with market-specific requirements.
The strongest fit is a senior operator-turned-advisor who enjoys spanning technical depth and boardroom communication, and who can mentor others while remaining hands-on in complex opportunities. It suits someone motivated by long-horizon industry direction, comfortable representing a point of view publicly, and interested in roles where credibility is built through outcomes and technical judgment rather than account ownership alone.

Job Description
As the Principal Solutions Consultant for APAC, you will be a key strategic leader and the "technical face" of PagerDuty across the APAC region. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering. You won’t just be selling a platform; you will be partnering with CTOs, CIOs, and VPs of Engineering at APAC’s most influential enterprises to redefine how they manage digital operations, resilience, and automation.
You will act as a bridge between our customers’ long-term strategic needs and PagerDuty’s product roadmap. You will spend your time evangelizing the PagerDuty Operations Cloud, mentoring our high-performing technical sales teams, and acting as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on topics ranging from AIOps and SRE maturity to digital transformation and cloud migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a peer and advisor to customer CTOs and CIOs, helping them navigate complex digital transformations and operationalizing the PagerDuty Operations Cloud within their organizations.
- Represent PagerDuty as a thought leader at major industry events (e.g., AWS Summit Sydney, Gartner IO) and through digital content, white-papers, and local media.
- Partner closely with our Global Product and Engineering leadership in San Francisco to ensure the unique requirements of the APAC markets are represented in our long-term roadmap.
- Provide architectural oversight and executive presence for our most complex, high-stakes enterprise opportunities in the ANZ region.
- Foster a local community of DevOps and SRE leaders, sharing best practices on operational excellence, incident response, and the ethical application of AI in operations.
- Stay ahead of the curve on the APAC competitive landscape, identifying market shifts and technical trends that PagerDuty can capitalize on.
Who You Are
- You have a deep-seated passion for the future of digital operations. You can articulate not just where the industry is today, but where it will be in 3–5 years.
- You are equally comfortable white-boarding a complex micro services architecture with a Lead Architect as you are presenting a business value case to a Board of Directors.
- You have a strong technical foundation. You understand the "pains" of the modern developer because you’ve lived them.
- You don’t just want to close deals; you want to ensure customers achieve their desired outcomes and see PagerDuty as a mission-critical partner.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in technical leadership, solutions architecture, or product management within the SaaS, DevOps, or Cloud infrastructure space.
- Proven track record of engaging with and influencing C-level executives at ASX 100 or equivalent global enterprises, navigating complex organizations
- Proven ability to support and influence sales cycles with solid grasp of sales processes and customer buying journeys
- Deep domain expertise in at least three of the following: Incident Management, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), AIOps, Cloud Native Architectures, ITSM/ITIL, or Cybersecurity Incident Response.
- Exceptional public speaking and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel across APAC and occasionally overseas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active involvement in the Australian tech community (mentorship, open-source contribution, or local board positions).
- Experience navigating the regulatory landscape for Australian financial services (APRA) or government sectors as it relates to cloud resiliency.
