Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This listing stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it is a zero to one CEO and co-founder role for an ambient AI platform being shaped through a structured design partnership with an academic medical center. Rather than joining an established product org, the focus is on turning a high stakes, compliance linked hospital workflow into a repeatable software model, with the added complexity of deploying into clinical environments that have stringent IT, legal, and procurement constraints.
For SaaS career development, the role concentrates many of the core skills that later translate across enterprise SaaS leadership: converting design partners into paying customers, building a credible go to market motion, and aligning product priorities to measurable customer outcomes. It also offers direct exposure to fundraising cadence and board level reporting, plus the practical discipline of managing runway against milestones, which is foundational for operators moving into general management.
This role best fits a senior operator or prior founder who prefers ambiguity, can work across technical and commercial threads, and is comfortable being accountable for both customer traction and company building. It will suit someone motivated by enterprise selling cycles and by shaping product direction through real world deployment feedback rather than internal roadmap planning.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
Alloy Partners is a venture builder with a radical thesis: that we can build and scale advantaged companies in partnership with corporations and entrepreneurs.
Alloy Partners and the University of Notre Dame partnered to establish a first-of-its-kind venture studio and venture fund, the 1842 Studio and 1842 Fund which is aligned with Notre Dame's mission of serving as a "Force for Good" in the world. In close partnership with the University and its vast network of alumni, corporate, community, and academic leaders, the 1842 Studio co-creates startups that address critical societal challenges, including improving health outcomes for vulnerable patient populations.
The Opportunity
Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) affect 1 in 31 hospital patients daily, kill approximately 99,000 Americans annually, and cost the U.S. healthcare system $28–45 billion in direct costs — yet hospitals still rely on manual, retrospective surveillance that detects infections too late to prevent the worst outcomes. CMS penalties now put 3–4% of Medicare revenue at risk for the worst-performing hospitals, making HAI prevention an existential financial priority for health system leadership.
StealthCo is an ambient AI platform co-developed with a top academic medical center that transforms how hospital systems detect, prevent, and respond to infection risks. By continuously monitoring patients through existing hospital camera infrastructure and applying novel computer vision and AI models at the bedside, StealthCo delivers real-time visibility into prevention protocol adherence, early warnings for high-impact infections including VAP, CLABSI, CAUTI, and SSI, and clinical decision support that enables care teams to intervene before infections manifest.
Validated with the academic medical center and other health system, StealthCo aims to deliver a 5x ROI, creating millions in value annually through reduced length of stay, recovered CMS reimbursements, and avoided readmission penalties.
We are seeking a world-class entrepreneur to join as CEO and Co-Founder. This is a pre-revenue, pre-product founding role. The company has secured a structured design partnership with a top academic medical center as its first design partner and $1.25M in committed capital from the 1842 Fund. The CEO will build and lead StealthCo from the ground up alongside a technical co-founder with deep computer vision and healthcare AI expertise.
What You'll Do
- Execute the design partnership — navigate clinical, IT, legal, and procurement stakeholders to build, deploy, and validate the MVP in pilot ICU units, and convert the design partner relationship to a commercial agreement
- Recruit and partner with a technical co-founder with expertise in computer vision, ambient AI, and healthcare platform engineering to build and evolve the product
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting academic medical centers and large regional health systems, building a pipeline beyond the initial design partner that supports a Seed fundraise within 18-24 months
- Own the operational budget and manage burn rate and runway, aligning available resources to key business milestones
- Create and execute a fundraising strategy to drive interest from outside venture investors at the Seed stage and beyond
- Build a thoughtful organizational hiring plan and recruit, retain, and develop world-class talent against it
- Assist the technical co-founder in defining, evaluating, and evolving the product roadmap by translating customer insights into product priorities
- Develop a framework for building relationships across hospital systems, specifically with CNOs, Quality Officers, and Infection Prevention leadership, including channel partners that can extend StealthCo’s reach
- Report progress on strategic goals to the Board of Directors and corporate stakeholders
- Build a company culture with articulated values that attracts exceptional people and enables a strong, trust-based relationship with the founding team
Must-Have
- Direct experience founding, leading, or operating a company that used ambient video feeds and computer vision AI to generate clinical or operational insights in a healthcare or enterprise environment
- Proven track record selling enterprise software or AI solutions into large health systems or academic medical centers at the CNO, CMIO, or VP-level, including firsthand experience navigating multi-stakeholder procurement, pilot-to-scale progression, and committee approval processes
- Founding experience at a venture-backed company, or a key commercial leadership role (VP or above) at an early-stage venture-backed health technology company with demonstrated revenue impact
- Technical fluency sufficient to evaluate computer vision and healthcare AI talent, make credible product and architecture judgments, and hold substantive conversations with hospital IT and clinical informatics leadership
Strong Differentiators
- Existing relationships with CNOs, Quality Officers, or Infection Prevention leadership at academic medical centers or large regional health systems
- Experience navigating FDA regulatory pathways for AI/ML-based clinical decision support, including Licensed Practitioner Exemption (LPE) strategies and 510(k) clearance pathways
- Domain experience in patient safety, hospital-acquired condition prevention, fall detection, pressure injury prevention, sepsis detection, or adjacent inpatient clinical AI applications
- Prior venture-backed company exit, acquisition or IPO
- Engagement with health system innovation communities including CHIME, HIMSS, APIC, or SHEA
What we offer:
- Salary plus equity plan
- Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
- Flexible work location within the United States
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with a proven venture studio playbook
- A highly validated concept and business model hypothesis developed by our team
- Pre-seed funding committed by Notre Dame’s 1842 Fund
- The support of Alloy Partners’ GTM team, surrounding the startup with world-class expertise in every discipline required to build a market-leading company
