Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This finance role stands out in a SaaS context because it sits at the edge of a mature subscription platform expanding into initiatives with physical operations. That combination is increasingly common as leading SaaS and platform businesses look for new revenue surfaces beyond core digital delivery, while still applying software-era rigor to measurement, forecasting, and governance.
For a long-term SaaS finance career, the work builds fluency in unit economics design, scenario-based investment appraisal, and the reporting infrastructure that turns operational activity into decision-ready narratives. The emphasis on multi year models, capital allocation, and lifecycle tracking maps closely to how SaaS companies evaluate product bets and market entry, but with additional complexity around infrastructure and recoupment cycles. Experience partnering across functions also translates well to FP&A and strategic finance paths inside product led organizations.
The role is best suited to finance professionals who enjoy building frameworks from first principles and can move between detailed modeling and executive level storytelling. It will appeal to candidates who prefer ambiguous problem spaces, value cross functional influence, and want a seat close to strategic investment decisions within a SaaS adjacent expansion effort.

Job Description
Spotify is looking for a seasoned Senior Manager to join our Finance team to support the evaluation and potential operation of new in person experiences. As Spotify continues to evolve beyond digital streaming, we are exploring initiatives that bridge the gap between our platform’s global reach and the physical-world.
This is a "foundational" finance role responsible for building the investment models, unit economic frameworks, and operational governance for these new initiatives. You will partner with leadership and the business to produce scenario analysis and manage the financial lifecycle of infrastructure and operational investments.

What You'll Do
- Modeling: Lead the development of multi-year financial models for capital-intensive projects, managing budgets and long-term recoupment cycles.
- Unit Economics: partner with the business to determine the appropriate "Single Unit" P&L framework. Analyze revenue drivers (including secondary monetization streams) and cost structures to ensure investments meet IRR and cash flow targets.
- Strategic Investment Appraisal: Provide financial partnership scenario analysis.
- Market Entry Analysis: Partner with the business to evaluate commercial structures, and regional economic variables to optimize potential roadmaps.
- Performance Governance: Establish the reporting infrastructure for these new initiatives, translating operations into clear financial narratives for leadership.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the primary finance lead for a diverse team of operators across Spotify.
Who You Are
- Experienced Finance Professional: 6+ years in FP&A, Corporate Development, or Investment Banking. Experience in industries with physical footprints (e.g., Real Estate, Hospitality, Retail, or Entertainment) is highly preferred.
- Sophisticated Modeler: Can build dynamic models that handle complex variables like construction ramp-ups, negative working capital, and lease capitalization and distill models into key assumptions.
- Trust builder: You have a "sharp eye for detail” along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders both in Finance and across Spotify through clear, data-driven narratives and investment cases.
- Operational Mindset: You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a fast-paced, flat organizational structure.
- Systems familiarity: Comfortable automated reporting tools (Netsuite/Adaptive, Workday Financials) and an interest in leveraging AI to drive analytical throughput.
Where You'll Be
- This role is based in New York, NY
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the office 2-3 days per week.
