Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Data Scientist role stands out because it sits at the point where mature SaaS products turn large, interconnected usage and workflow data into product-native intelligence. The remit spans both user-facing AI capabilities and the underlying intelligence platform, signaling work that influences how AI is operationalised across a collaborative work management product rather than isolated experimentation.
For a SaaS career path, the role offers sustained exposure to the full lifecycle that matters in subscription software: translating product requirements into measurable models, shipping to production with MLOps support, and iterating based on monitoring and feedback. The emphasis on LLM-based systems, prompt-driven feature development, and reliable Python codebases aligns with how many SaaS companies are currently building AI features that must be maintainable, observable, and safe at scale.
This position is best suited to someone who prefers applied ML over purely research work and is comfortable collaborating with product owners and engineers to make trade-offs. It will fit a practitioner who enjoys setting evaluation metrics, reviewing code, and working in an agile cadence, while keeping an eye on platform reuse across multiple product surfaces.
