This is a hybrid position where you'll be required to be in office at least two days a week with the flexibility to work from home the remaining days if desired.
About this Role:
As an HR Generalist, you will be reporting directly to the VP of HR and work closely with other key leaders in the business. You will be acting as an advisor for our global (Canada, US, Sweden) teams to continue building, enhancing, and delivering key people operation processes. This includes but is not limited to, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, performance management/succession management and payroll. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about people-first practices, and brings a proactive and collaborative approach to HR.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Own the full-cycle recruitment process across technical and business functions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, completing reference and background checks and offer negotiation
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements, success profiles, and streamline interview processes for improved candidate fit and efficiency
- Leverage strategic sourcing and data to attract top talent while elevating the employer brand
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Manage onboarding processes that deliver a seamless and engaging new hire experience
- Lead onboarding sessions and ensure smooth integration into HRIS and cross-functional systems
- Standardize offboarding practices and support transition planning across regions including resignations, exit interviews, and terminations
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- You will be the first point of contact to complete payroll for each cycle and work closely with HR Team and CFO to ensure payroll is completed in a timely manner for each site
- Administer end-to-end global payroll processing via ADP Workforce Now for Canada & US, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manage employee benefits programs and provide prompt resolution to payroll/benefits queries
Performance Management & Employee Relations
- Support performance management cycles, OKR tracking, and succession planning efforts
- Guide leaders through coaching conversations, development plans, and employee relations cases with empathy and compliance awareness
Employee Events & Communication
- Support the HR Team with any written communication to teams/all staff
- Be a key member of the Social Committee and Joint Health and Safety Committee by taking on a leadership role
- Champion employee engagement programs, pulse surveys, and team-building initiatives to promote culture alignment across regional offices
- Administer and manage people rewards and incentives for life events and other
Managing HRIS System
- Maintain data integrity within HRIS (HiBob) and continuously recommend process improvements to enhance systems efficiency
- Ensure all employee data and records are uploaded correctly
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and international employment legislation across all operational regions
- Maintain and update company handbooks and policies to reflect organizational changes and best practices
- Lead HR projects, audits, and policy rollouts related to regulatory requirements and internal initiatives
Ad Hoc Projects & Reporting
- Support HR Team with ad-hoc projects as needed
- Monthly and quarterly reporting on people analytics
Requirements
- 2–3 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a high-growth or tech-enabled environment
- Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment and HR operations across multiple regions
- Strong familiarity with HRIS platforms (HiBob preferred) and payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now strongly desired)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in people data reporting
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field; CHRP designation is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
- Must be comfortable with occasional travel to our US site as part of cross-border collaboration
- Knowledge or experience in working with US payroll or employment law practices is an asset
