We are seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our global revenue accounting function. This role will be responsible for revenue accounting, order management, billing, and collections, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across all region. The Director will report directly to the VP, Controller.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global revenue accounting function, including revenue recognition, order management, billing, and collections, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations to evaluate complex customer contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment and alignment with company policies
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over revenue processes to ensure SOX compliance
- Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability in revenue systems and workflows, leveraging tools such as NetSuite ERP and Salesforce
- Assist in key system initiatives and projects, including CPQ reimplementation and pricing/packaging changes, ensuring alignment across systems, processes, and revenue recognition policies
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the revenue cycle, using data driven insights to identify trends, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement across revenue operations
- Serve as the primary liaison for revenue topics with external auditors, internal audit, and executive stakeholders, ensuring transparency, timely resolution of issues, and alignment with corporate governance standards
- Collaborate with FP&A to provide revenue forecasting insights, variance analysis, and key business metrics to executive leadership
- Lead the preparation of revenue-related disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and support external audit requests
- Manage and develop a high-performing global revenue team, providing mentorship, career development, and performance feedback
- Stay current on evolving accounting guidance and industry best practices, assessing and implementing changes as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Active CPA license
- Minimum of 12 years of combined public accounting AND public company revenue accounting experience, including at least 4 years in a management role
- Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to build scalable processes, improve efficiencies, streamline accounting operations, and enhance outcomes
- Strong attention to detail, with exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams in dynamic environments
- Working knowledge of NetSuite ERP and Salesforce

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $231,000 - $347,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
